Wu Xiaojiu’s face flushed with embarrassment.

He quietly clenched his fist.

Damn it! Why is it that even after transmigrating to another world, I still didn’t become the strongest?

His tears wetted the snack in his hand; he silently swore to himself that he would become king of kings.

Wu Xiaojiu made a secret vow that next time, he wouldn’t let himself be looked down upon like this again.

Yet the men in black suits before him clearly found his failed bravado utterly laughable.

Harsh laughter broke out in succession. Soon, they pointed at Wu Xiaojiu’s nose, taunting him one after another.

In his mind, the System registered the male lead’s favorability score; it kept dropping unemotionally, like trimming a third-rate extra from the footage.

Wu Xiaojiu clenched his jaw ever tighter.

Damn it! He really didn’t want to die.

Long Aotian, why do you have to dislike me!

Right now, he was someone who could casually take out over 200,000 yuan to drive a Maserati. By contrast, people in the 21st century would hesitate to spend 2,000 yuan on a cheap knockoff ‘Masha’ electric scooter.

“Enough, stop wasting time. Su Family’s Eldest Daughter, your Grandfather is beyond saving. You’d better go back and sign the property agreement.”

The men in black straightened up as they laughed, their voices suddenly cold.

“At least you’re the Su Family’s Eldest Daughter. Your uncle won’t be so ruthless-he’ll leave you some money to live abroad. Let’s each give a little; don’t make things difficult for everyone.”

Su Zhishi’s delicate face was tense, her tears flowing uncontrollably as she shook her head at them.

Seeing this, the men in black didn’t waste any more words. One swung a fist toward the nearest target-Wu Xiaojiu.

After all, you always pick the softest target.

He looked like an easy target.

The wind from the punch was fierce, making Wu Xiaojiu’s calves tremble.

He couldn’t show fear in front of a girl.

His body instinctively stiffened, unable to dodge at all.

After a moment’s thought, he closed his eyes, silently praying that the pain would be mild.

If possible, one punch would knock him onto the curb so he could just close his eyes and play dead.

“Worthless.”

A heavy breath sounded behind him, and in the next instant, a figure flashed past, even faster than the punch.

The pain he expected never came.

When Wu Xiaojiu opened his eyes again,

a pile of men in black lay scattered on the ground, eyes rolled back, their condition unclear.

“You can fight? You’re amazing!”

Su Zhishi’s voice rang out in delight behind him as she jumped up and hugged Bo Suihan.

Wu Xiaojiu turned his face away, feeling like he might cry but couldn’t.

Girl, he had just been the one standing out front. Even if he was useless, he’d been brave.

Why didn’t he get a single glance?

“I learned it from my master in the mountains.”

Bo Suihan maintained his Long Aotian demeanor, his expression cold even before such a beautiful girl.

“Then do you know medicine? My Grandfather is seriously ill. We’ve invited every doctor in the city, but nothing has worked.”

“I do.”

As Bo Suihan replied,

Wu Xiaojiu felt a sharp pain in his arm, then it went numb and limp on one side. He could still feel it, but it hurt terribly.

But those men in black hadn’t touched him at all-so where did this injury come from?

He didn’t understand and could only gasp, trying to attract the attention of the two behind him.

But they were utterly absorbed in their conversation.

Wu Xiaojiu had no choice but to hop between them, inserting himself between Bo Suihan and the girl.

He reached out and tapped his right shoulder.
At this moment, the pain made him grimace and bare his teeth.

“Maybe they hit you. I wasn’t quick enough to help. Should I apologize to you?”

Bo Suihan stared at him, coldly.

Like an iceberg-get half a step closer and you’d be frozen stiff.

Wu Xiaojiu was so choked by this remark that he couldn’t get a word out.

But he clearly remembered that punch hadn’t even touched him.

Instead, it was Bo Suihan’s pretentious cold wind that swept up and struck his arm.

Still, Su Zhishi’s soft heart prevailed, and she stepped forward to check on him.

When she lifted his arm and found no external injuries, a look of confusion appeared on her stunningly beautiful face.

But she was pressed for time today, and really couldn’t waste it on Wu Xiaojiu.

After hurriedly tossing out a “see a good doctor,” she tried to pull Bo Suihan along to run home on foot.

Wu Xiaojiu was in so much pain that tears welled up. He was unfamiliar with this place, and being left behind like this made him anxious.

He quickly used his only good hand to fish the Maserati keys out of his pocket.

“I have a car, it’ll save a lot of time. Can you take me with you?”

…

The three of them arrived at Wu Xiaojiu’s outrageously flashy, pink Maserati.

As soon as the engine roared to life and those lightning-like, ghostly neon lights flashed, they drew a huge crowd.

Wu Xiaojiu stood at the center of attention, covering his face with his only uninjured hand.

Why is it that having money still feels so embarrassing?

All the way, the car blasted tacky DJ music, and the lights were visible from two streets away, never stopping.

Bo Suihan’s face was cold as frost, tightly set. Several times he glanced at Wu Xiaojiu, holding back words he wanted to say.

He drove in the front.

Su Zhishi and Wu Xiaojiu sat side by side in the back seat.

Her jade-like little face was anxious. The air conditioning was set to the lowest, yet sweat still beaded on her forehead.

The city wasn’t far, and soon they arrived outside the Su Family Villa, a cold, inhuman mansion. Through the car window, they could see a layer of white cloth draped up ahead.

Behind the floor-to-ceiling windows, shadows mingled, but only one loud male voice rang out discordantly in the solemn atmosphere, laughing boisterously.

“Su Zhishi? Just because her Grandfather favors her doesn’t mean I think highly of her. If you ask me, all that inheritance has nothing to do with her.”

“She’s just an unfilial daughter. Her Grandfather is near the end and she won’t even come to see him off. Instead, she’s out fooling around with others-she’s practically an animal.”

“Su Beizhi, you’re talking nonsense!”

Su Zhishi wiped her tears, eyes red, and kicked open the door of the Su Family Villa.

Inside, people sat in a circle, feasting and drinking, stopping mid-action when they saw her return with two men.

Whispers filled the air.

Su Beizhi sprawled on his chair, looking like a lord.

“What did I say wrong? You said you went out to find a famous doctor, but brought back two pale, beardless boys. Tell me, which bar did you pick these male models from?”

Su Zhishi was furious, unwilling to argue.

She turned and pushed Bo Suihan forward, glaring and pointing at him.

“He’s the famous doctor I brought back. All those bodyguards you sent were defeated by him!”

Su Beizhi sneered with contempt.

He turned and pointed at Wu Xiaojiu, saying, “If you’re going to brag like that, what’s this one’s role? Why did you bring him along?”
