chapter 11
The sunlight pouring in through the Vent Window grew increasingly blinding.
Meng Lier’s body was becoming more and more transparent.
Outside the window, two figures-a man and a woman-had appeared. Both wore white shirts. The girl had a pair of gold-rimmed glasses perched on her nose. When she saw me, she raised her Mobile Phone.
She was Xiaoran, and the boy beside her was Ji Zhao.
“Coffin Opens, Living Souls Exit, Dead Souls Enter.” Ji Zhao said solemnly to Meng Lier, who was pinned to the window. “Tomb Owner, the Barrier is broken. Stop struggling.”
Meng Lier looked at Ji Zhao, Blood Tears streaming from her eyes.
Suddenly, she let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Ji Zhao’s expression changed dramatically.
“Careful!!!”
But it was already too late.
Meng Lier suddenly broke free from her restraints and lunged at me.
Everything happened in a flash. Ji Zhao and Xiaoran were too far away to intervene.
A violent blow struck me from the front, and the intense impact knocked me unconscious.
In the last moment of clarity,
I saw a white figure rushing from behind,
blocking the way in front of me.
I had a very, very long dream.
I dreamed of Wu Lan.
In the dream, it was still the beginning of my freshman year. I was a newly recruited member of the Student Council, and the Student Council President was handsome and gentle. After pursuing me for a month, I started dating him.
But he turned out to be a complete scumbag. He drugged me, took photos of me, and used them to blackmail me for money, continuing to harass me relentlessly.
When I was hiding in the Dormitory, crying alone, Wu Lan came back.
Before that, I wasn’t close to Wu Lan.
She was cold and quiet, not fond of talking. Qin Xiao and Meng Lier had told me more than once that they thought Wu Lan was just a study-obsessed weirdo.
But that time, Wu Lan took the initiative to come to my side while I was sobbing.
She asked, “What’s wrong?”
For the first time, I realized Wu Lan actually spoke very gently.
…
Wu Lan went to find the Student Council President and got both the money and the photos back.
I didn’t know how she did it. When I asked, she refused to say.
After that, the Student Council President never dared to harass me again, so I often followed Wu Lan around, showering her with praise.
“Sister Lan is amazing.”
“Sister Lan’s got my back.”
“I love Sister Lan the most.”
Every time I complimented her, Wu Lan would keep a straight face, looking as if she couldn’t stand sentimental words.
She often sighed at me.
“You’re already grown up, and you look pretty enough, but you’re just so silly.”
I didn’t mind: “So what if I’m just a beautiful fool? As long as Sister Lan protects me!
“Right, Sister Lan?”
“…”
“Right, right?”
“…”
“You’ll protect me, won’t you?”
“Mm.”
Suddenly, I realized that in this night that would never brighten, the phrase Wu Lan-now a ghost-said to me the most was:
“I will protect you.”

The Tomb Owner
I was livestreaming in the Dormitory when viewers noticed that the Ceiling was leaking.
Everyone urged me to call a School Worker to fix it, but there was one Danmaku that said:
