This was not the first time I had brought up divorce with Lin Yuezhou.

The day Song Jiaojiao returned to the country, he left me behind to pick her up.

It was only when I saw his phone that I realized Song Jiaojiao was his first love.

We had a huge argument.

I accused him of having an ambiguous relationship with his ex and lacking boundaries.

He questioned why I had looked through his phone, saying I was always suspicious and paranoid.

In a fit of anger, I asked for a divorce.

He didn’t try to comfort me, and didn’t come home for several days in a row.

I was anxious and helpless, crying for days.

In the end, I was the one who compromised first, apologizing to him, saying I shouldn’t have looked at his phone or doubted him over something baseless.

He knew I loved him enough, which is why he was so sure I couldn’t leave him.

But this time, I had accumulated enough disappointment.

Lin Yuezhou, just like before, didn’t come home for several days.

I was actually quite content, slowly packing up my things and getting ready to go to the UK at the end of the month.

It wasn’t until his friends, who rarely contacted me, suddenly called me on his third night away:

“Um, sis-in-law, Yuezhou is drunk. Could you come pick him up?”

“No, we’re in the middle of a divorce right now. It’s not convenient.”

“Yuezhou keeps calling your name, sis-in-law. Are you really not coming?”

“You must have misheard. Last time he was drunk, he was calling Song Jiaojiao’s name.”

Suddenly, I heard the sound of a bottle smashing on the floor through the receiver.

I calmly hung up the phone.

It wasn’t until I opened the door the next morning and saw Song Jiaojiao that I realized Lin Yuezhou had been with her the previous night.

As soon as she saw me, she covered her mouth, looking embarrassed. “Li Li, I didn’t want to trouble you either, but Yuezhou drank too much and threw up all over himself, so I had to come over to get him some clothes.”

“I tried to get him to come home, but he wouldn’t listen. There’s nothing I can do, so please don’t blame me.”

She deliberately tugged at her clothes, revealing the hickey on her neck.

I suppressed my disgust. “What? Are you actually proud of being a mistress? Haven’t you learned anything about propriety, integrity, or shame?”

Song Jiaojiao’s expression changed instantly. She suddenly shoved me aside and walked in:

“I was with Yuezhou first. This should have been my house. The one who isn’t loved is the mistress. You have no right to judge me!”

My head hit the doorframe, swelling and burning.

She used a lot of force, making my vision blur for a moment.

I turned around, grabbing her collar, ready to push her out, when Lin Yuezhou suddenly came back.
