Chapter 11
When Lin Yuezhou arrived home, he immediately noticed that the house was exceptionally clean-so clean that it felt like something was missing.
He didn’t dare to think further.
He rushed to the bedroom, praying that Li Li was still asleep.
But she wasn’t in the bedroom. The neatly made bed still looked exactly as it had after Xiao Li tidied it yesterday morning.
She hadn’t come home all night…
His body trembled slightly as he searched every corner of the house, but there was no sign of Li Li anywhere.
Or rather, there was no trace of Li Li left at all.
He finally realized what was missing-Li Li’s belongings.
Lin Yuezhou’s heart felt as if something was gripping it tightly, a sharp pain radiating through his entire body.
He took out his phone, wanting to call Li Li.
But his phone was dead.
He rushed to get the charger, and in his panic, he tripped and fell, crawling desperately toward it.
While waiting for the phone to turn on, his body was tense, his breathing grew more rapid, and anxiety hung over him like a sword, ready to fall at any moment.
And then, the sword did fall.
A single message, a single photo, pronounced his fate.
He picked up the Divorce Agreement on the bedside table, the one already signed with Li Li’s name, and stared at it for a long time.
A scalding tear fell onto the paper, blurring the words.
He collapsed to the floor, his expression twisted with pain and regret.
No… Li Li wouldn’t be so heartless.
Lin Yuezhou tried to comfort himself.
He would go apologize to her, explain everything-she would forgive him.
After all, she had always been soft-hearted.
But now, he couldn’t reach her.
Li Li had blocked him.
He ran to her company like a madman, only to learn that she had been transferred and had left for the UK last night.
Suddenly, he remembered a year ago, when Li Li had excitedly told him she was getting a promotion and a raise, and asked if he would go to the UK with her.
Lin Yuezhou admitted to himself that he had been selfish-he didn’t want to go abroad like his mother, nor did he want her to leave him.
That was the first time he had shown his vulnerable side in front of Li Li.
As expected, she felt sorry for him and never brought it up again.
But now, she no longer felt sorry for him-she left him behind.
Lin Yuezhou asked with difficulty, “When did she start preparing to go abroad?”
That was their seventh wedding anniversary.
So, even back then, she had already decided to leave him?
He closed his eyes in pain, then suddenly slapped himself hard.
