Chapter 2
Chapter 2
In the third year after my rebirth, the relationship between Eldest Senior Sister and Little Junior Sister began to grow tense.
On Eldest Senior Sister’s birthday, Mu Qingyang gave Little Junior Sister a gift as well as her, and the other Senior and Junior Brothers did the same.
When it was my turn, I only gave Eldest Senior Sister a small figurine I had carved myself. I had etched a formation onto it that could block damage at a critical moment.
Eldest Senior Sister’s eyes curved into smiles as she thanked me solemnly.
The others asked me, “Why didn’t you prepare a gift for Little Junior Sister?”
I rubbed my hands together, looking a bit constrained.
“Is it Little Junior Sister’s birthday today too? If so, it’s my mistake, and I apologize to her. Once my cultivation recovers, I’ll make one for her as well, alright?”
Everyone froze.
Little Junior Sister smiled and waved her hand.
“It’s not my birthday today; it’s Eldest Senior Sister’s. It’s all your fault-why did you give me gifts today? You made Second Senior Sister misunderstand. Eldest Senior Sister is the guest of honor today; we should be celebrating her.”
I nodded. Little Junior Sister understood propriety, while the Senior and Junior Brothers seemed to lack it.
Mu Qingyang didn’t understand propriety either.
However, he was a disciple of the Guiyuan Sect; he didn’t fall under the jurisdiction of my Bixiao Sect.
That night, I hand-wrote a manual on social etiquette, made numerous copies, and placed them on the desks of all my Senior and Junior Brothers.
We were all disciples of the same Sect, and as the future Sect Ancestor, I couldn’t just abandon them to their own devices.
I also left a copy for Eldest Senior Sister and Little Junior Sister.
Though they were quite polite, Eldest Senior Sister didn’t seem to realize that her boundaries were being overstepped.
As for Little Junior Sister, she seemed to enjoy people-pleasing far too much, trying to make everyone happy.
Ultimately, it all came down to a poor understanding of social graces. It was the perfect time for them to relearn the basics.
By the time I finished these tasks, the moon was high in the sky.
I sat on a tree branch holding Fubao, looking out proudly over the mountains and waters of the Bixiao Sect. With a grand wave of my small hand, I said to Fubao:
“Look, Fubao. All of this will be my domain in the future. Protecting the flora and fauna is our shared responsibility. From this day forward, join me in guarding the Sect’s environment!”
Fubao howled at the moon.
“Woof! Woof!”
From then on, Fubao became a little environmental guardian. His favorite thing to do every day was to pick up trash around the Sect.
Eldest Senior Sister liked him very much and gave him a little basket so he could put the trash inside.
Little Junior Sister made him a small cloth banner that read: ‘Do not litter, or you will be caught and fined a Spirit Stone.’
Gradually, the Senior and Junior Brothers rarely littered anymore.
One day, Fubao came back looking dejected. He hadn’t found a single piece of trash, and his entire body radiated the gloom of someone who had just lost their job.
An unemployed puppy is a truly pitiful sight.
I caught a chicken.
“Let’s have an extra meal today~”
Fubao’s eyes instantly lit up.
“Woof! Woof!”
