Chapter 10
Chapter 10
After Eldest Senior Sister returned, she had no time to grieve.
Within a few days, she seemed to have gained a sudden flash of insight. Her spiritual aperture opened, and she broke through her cultivation realm in one fell swoop, achieving Core Formation. She became the youngest Prodigy of her generation to form a Golden Core.
That little romantic scandal, coupled with the momentous event of her Core Formation, only served to make her more legendary, and her fame spread far and wide.
On the day of Eldest Senior Sister’s Core Formation…
I took Fubao with me to bury some Magical Artifacts in the surrounding area.
Heavenly Thunder rolled and crashed down. Those Magical Artifacts absorbed some of the lightning’s power, helping Eldest Senior Sister achieve Core Formation more smoothly.
Fubao and I watched blankly as the thick pillars of lightning thundered down, both of us letting out gasps of admiration.
“It’s so thick! One hit could probably kill ten Fubaos.”
Fubao tilted his head and nudged me hard with his snout.
“Woof, woof! Woof woof woof!”
*Are you okay? Are you sick? Are you mentally ill?*
I pushed his head away and giggled, but then my laughter cut short.
Both of us had been caught red-handed by that Senior Brother Cui from the Enforcement Hall.
He grabbed us by the scruffs of our necks, one in each hand, and flew outward at top speed.
“How can you two be so bold? You dare watch a Core Formation Realm Thunder Tribulation from this close? Are you really not afraid of being struck dead by lightning?”
I tucked my head in, arguing back in my mind: *I’m not afraid! What’s there to be afraid of? Young man, I’ve even experienced the Thunder Tribulation of the Great Ascension Realm.*
Fubao was also being held by the scruff of his fate. Though he couldn’t speak, his face was full of defiance.
Senior Brother Cui laughed out of sheer frustration.
“Like owner, like dog. Still, a dog doesn’t know any better, but don’t you? Since you’re raising him, you have to be responsible for him. How could you take him to such a dangerous place?”
These words spoke right to Fubao’s heart. He immediately defected, rubbing his head against Senior Brother Cui and letting out needy little whimpers.
Me: “…”
How disgusting!
Fubao: *Hmph!*
*You don’t understand anything at all, you eternal single dog.*
After receiving a lecture, we were finally released.
Senior Brother Cui made me promise never to take the dog on such adventures again, or else he would punish me by making me write a self-reflection essay.
My inner thoughts: *Heh! Young man, you have no idea what kind of terrifying existence you are facing.*
My mouth: “Yes, Senior Brother. I won’t dare do it again.”
Under Senior Brother Cui’s watchful gaze, Fubao and I obediently left.
As soon as we were out of his sight, the two of us immediately started brawling, fighting all the way back to my Abode.
“You damn dog, stop being so dramatic!”
“Woof woof!” *Dead human! You’re mean!*
At the entrance, we both stopped in unison.
Standing there was a despondent Little Junior Sister.
She was wearing that shimmering Magical Robe, looking exquisite, yet her expression was incredibly listless.
Seeing me, she forced a faint smile and said softly, “Second Senior Sister, can I stay here with you for a while?”
I opened the Abode’s Restriction and said calmly, “Come in.”
Little Junior Sister walked in dazed, staring blankly at the sky.
Eldest Senior Sister’s Thunder Tribulation was over. She was likely stabilizing her advancement with Master and the various Elders acting as her Protector. After this tribulation, she would also enter secluded meditation to comprehend a new Cultivation Method, and likely wouldn’t emerge for several years.
Consequently, the only person currently at the center of public scrutiny was Little Junior Sister.
Recently, news had been trickling out from the Guiyuan Sect, claiming that the culprit behind the split between Eldest Senior Sister and Mu Qingyang was Little Junior Sister.
Opinions were divided, and Little Junior Sister had been facing constant finger-pointing during this period.
Today, Eldest Senior Sister’s Core Formation had drawn even more attention, which likely made things even harder for her.
The success of the strong often turns into a torrential rain that falls upon the other party in the eyes of the masses.
And right now, the rain over her head was likely a downpour.
