chapter 8
The Lu Family has three sons.
The Eldest Brother is in business, the Second Brother is a doctor, and the Third Brother is a race car driver.
Compared to the Third Brother’s sharp tongue,
The Eldest Brother and Second Brother are busier with work and have milder temperaments.
Their attitude toward me is mostly indifferent.
So when I heard what he said, I didn’t really react much.
Instead, it was Gu Lin beside me who frowned.
He stepped forward, grabbed me, and pulled me into the consultation room, pressing me down to sit at the desk:
“Doctor, this is an emergency. We can’t afford any more delay.”
As he spoke, Gu Lin’s gaze was deep as he glanced at Lu Qingyao outside the door.
The implication was obvious.
Lu Qingyao’s expression changed slightly, his brows furrowing even tighter.
After standing in place for more than ten seconds, he suddenly let out a cold snort:
“Only Jiajia would believe your act.”
“She’s so worried about you that she’s already urging Mom and Dad to come back.”
“Just as you wanted, now the whole family is unhappy. Are you satisfied?”
After speaking, his gaze swept over my wrist again.
Lu Qingyao’s eyes darkened, but he said nothing.
As if certain I would obediently follow, he turned and walked out the door.
And just then-
The doctor who had read my medical card information suddenly exclaimed in surprise:
“You have Stomach Cancer?”
“You need to go to Gastroenterology for this. Surgery won’t help!”
The entire consultation room fell silent in an instant.
Gu Lin’s hand holding my wrist froze abruptly.
Lu Qingyao, outside the door, also stopped in his tracks.
But unlike Gu Lin’s shock,
His face was clearly impatient, cold, and mocking:
“First a suicide attempt, now Stomach Cancer.”
“Lu Siyuan, enough is enough.”
“If you keep making a scene, if you don’t die, there really won’t be any way to end this.”
My eyes trembled slightly.
I pressed my lips together in a bitter smile, nodding in self-mockery:
“Mm, then I’ll just go die.”
