chapter 7
The cemetery had my information tied to it, so both parties needed to meet and sign the transfer agreement.
I simply set the meeting place at the hospital.
After all, it had been quite a while since I slit my wrist.
If I didn’t get it bandaged, I might not even make it to the sea.
On the road to death, I’d still have to trouble someone to collect my corpse.
But what I didn’t expect was this:
Gu Lin should have been coming from the suburban Cemetery.
Yet he was only about ten minutes later than me, even though I was in the city?
The Agent noticed my confusion and wiped the sweat from his forehead:
“As soon as Mr. Gu heard you were attempting suicide,
he asked me to look up the home address you left in your file and drove straight to the city.
He was speeding the whole way.”
Hearing this, I looked in surprise at the man standing beside him, his face composed.
He wore a plain white T-shirt, a shirt jacket, and casual pants. He was tall and stood straight.
He was actually quite handsome and refined.
“You just got here too?” Gu Lin looked at me, slightly out of breath. “Come on, let’s find a nurse-”
“Patient 007, Lu Siyuan, please proceed to the consultation room.”
“Patient 007…”
The mechanical announcement interrupted him.
Gu Lin looked at me in shock, disbelief written on his face:
“In your condition, you still queued up to register?!”
I nodded blankly, “Ah, yes, I did.”
It’s not that urgent anyway.
No need to take up emergency medical resources.
“Lu Siyuan?”
A familiar, cool voice tinged with surprise sounded not far behind me.
I turned at the sound, not expecting to see Lu Qingyao.
The second son of the Lu Family, my Second Brother.
An outstanding young internal medicine doctor at the city hospital.
Why would he be at the People’s Hospital?
And clearly, Lu Qingyao hadn’t expected the “Lu Siyuan” called by the number system to actually be me.
His brows furrowed slightly as he walked over to me.
The screen of his phone was still lit.
Looking at the chat interface, it seemed like a group chat?
Could it be…
“You knew I was coming to the People’s Hospital for a seminar today,
so you came here just to put on a show for me?”
His voice was distant and cold, tinged with reproach.
Lu Qingyao’s gaze swept over my hastily bandaged wrist.
A trace of disappointment and impatience flashed in his eyes:
“There’s a limit to how much nonsense you can make.”
