Gu Lin paused, meeting my gaze, which was frozen in shock.
He smiled gently: “In return, I’ll help take care of your body after you’re gone. How about it?”
He raised his hand and pressed it to his chest.
I shrank my neck back a little.

“But you should be able to tell my situation.”
“My family might not even come to visit my grave.”
“No matter,” Gu Lin didn’t seem to mind at all. “Having a neighbor for company is better than having no one at all.”
As he spoke, he stood up and looked at me.
His expression was relaxed and casual.
