chapter 1
There’s no way I’m fucking moving it!
You’ve heard of moving cars, moving houses.
But has anyone ever been asked to move a grave?
Blood rushed to my head and I suddenly sat up in the bathtub.
The water, stained bright red with blood, splashed onto the floor.
A barrage of curses surged to the tip of my tongue.
But as usual, I forced them back before I spoke:
“I saw the contract entered into the system with my own eyes, and it’s bound to my information.”
“Ah, yes,” the Cemetery staff sounded deeply apologetic, “but Mr. Gu Lin also signed a contract, so…”
“So, his info isn’t in the system, right?”
I cut in coolly:
“Sorry, I can’t move it.”
Back then, when the family favored two daughters, I lost out-my parents and brother became someone else’s family.
Now the same grave’s being sold twice, but it’s clearly under my name. I’m not about to lose this time, am I?
There was a moment of silence on the other end.
Then a deep, magnetic, unfamiliar voice came on:
“Miss Lu, you can name any price.”
“Whatever you want, consider it my compensation to you.”
My vision blurred from blood loss.
I pressed my fingers to my brow and steadied myself:
“This isn’t about money.”
“I need it urgently.”
But clearly, the Cemetery was leaning toward this patron who sounded rich.
They tried to persuade me, their tone coaxing:
“Miss Lu, we really do have plenty of better plots available.”
“Mr. Gu Lin… honestly needs it a bit more.”
“Even if you’re in a hurry, a little time won’t make a difference, right…”
“Is Mr. Gu Lin using it for himself?”
My sudden interruption caught them off guard.
But I didn’t wait for a reply.
I lowered my gaze, staring at my wrist submerged in blood-red warm water.
Softly, I let out my biggest bargaining chip, my voice barely a whisper:
“I’m slitting my wrists right now. I’ll be dead today.”
“I really do need it urgently.”
“Please, just don’t fight me for it.”
“Or if you really want it, how about we compete for it?”
