Memories surfaced from the depths of Li Yi’s mind.

The scene he had witnessed back in Qingshan Hospital was exactly this long-abandoned building before him now-the same corridor, the same ghosts running rampant.

Even the way he wielded the Ghost-Slaying Blade to cut down Fierce Ghosts was identical.

“Is this my death omen?” Li Yi muttered.

This was truly bizarre, but he refused to believe it.

His life could only end by his own decision.

[“Why does it feel like things are getting more and more off track?

A hospital crawling with Fierce Ghosts, and suddenly a living person pops up.

And judging by his face, he doesn’t look surprised at all.

Could it be that everything happening in Wangfei Hospital is being orchestrated by someone?”]

[“Don’t tell me all the Fierce Ghosts in this hospital, including the Blood-clad Ghost Zhang Na, were deliberately raised by this guy.”]

[“If that’s the case, that’s just terrifying. A Spirit Binder capable of cultivating a Blood-clad Ghost-the Streamer is in real trouble now.”]

Although the situation looked grim, no one jumped to conclusions. After all, with Li Yi, there was always a twist.

No matter how terrifying the predicament-enough to make ordinary people run for their lives-this man always managed to turn things around in ways no one expected.

“Who are you? Why are you here?” Li Yi frowned. There was a shadow beneath the man’s feet, proving he wasn’t a ghost.

But to show up in a place like this, and judging by his earlier words, it was clear this guy was no friend.

The young man stepped out from the corner, pointed at his own nose, and burst out laughing.

“You don’t even know who I am? Hahaha!”

“I thought you were some hidden master from somewhere, but you’re just a bumpkin who lucked into the inheritance of Mount Longhu.”

The young man doubled over with laughter, as if not knowing him was the most embarrassing thing in the world.

“Fine, I’ll tell you. I am, from ancient times to now, the most outstanding successor of Mount Longhu in a thousand years-Wu Hao.”

After saying this, Wu Hao raised his head proudly, as if waiting for Li Yi to react to his name.

But Li Yi just let out a soft “Oh.”

Most Spirit Binders who practice the Ghost Dao have emotions that are very different from normal people. They’re usually moody, hard to control, and to put it bluntly, a bit unhinged.

“Guys, what the hell is this Wu Hao dude?”

“That name’s wild. Cultivators are supposed to go against the grain, but this guy doesn’t just go against it-he wants to screw the heavens. What did the old master do to deserve running into such a freak?”

Li Yi mocked in the Live Streaming Room. If this guy’s life was full of twists and turns, it had to be because his name pissed off the old master.

The old master takes a look: “Damn, this kid’s name is cocky as hell. Got some nerve.”

Give him a lifetime of bad luck.

[“Wu Hao? Streamer, quit joking-this guy actually has some background.”]

[“He was once Master Chen’s favorite disciple at Mount Longhu, known as the youngest Grade-A Spirit Binder in history. When he was officially rated Grade-A, he was only fifteen.

Now, more than ten years have passed. His strength must be on a whole other level-at least a Grade-S Spirit Binder by now.”]

[“He might even surpass his master and break through to Super Grade-S Spirit Binder before Master Chen does.”]
Grade-S Spirit Binder?

Li Yi looked up. You really can’t judge a book by its cover. This guy appeared frail (a TCM euphemism), but who would have thought he was actually a big shot behind the scenes?

Impressive-so you’re the real big shot here.

A hint of nervousness crept into Li Yi’s heart.

As if.

All of us mind our own business-who’s really afraid of who?

So you advanced to Grade-A at fifteen-big deal. Since transmigrating, Li Yi himself has been here for less than fifteen years, and he’s about to break through to Grade-S.

I’ve got an unfair advantage-what are you, someone who’s just been playing catch-up?

“Why ‘former disciple’?” Li Yi noticed the word “former” had been added before “most outstanding disciple.”

Did that mean he used to be, but isn’t anymore?

The comments quickly provided the answer.

[“Apparently, he secretly learned the Forbidden Technique of Mount Longhu, and his intentions were impure. He raised ghosts and caused harm, so Master Chen expelled him from the sect.”]

“Oh, so he’s an ex-disciple.” Li Yi’s expression turned interested when he heard this.

Elsewhere, it’s always the disciple who challenges the master; here, it’s the other way around-the master comes knocking for revenge after being embarrassed.

He’d just embarrassed his master online, and now this guy had come to find him. Who knew if it was a coincidence, or if they’d been in contact behind the scenes all along?

“You little punk, you even dare to meddle in my, Wu Hao’s, business? You must be tired of living. Hand over the Ghost-Sealing Scroll honestly, and maybe I’ll let you die with your body intact.”

Wu Hao sized Li Yi up and down, his gaze finally fixing on the Ghost-Sealing Scroll wrapped around Li Yi’s waist.

[“Wu Hao, disciple of Mount Longhu, has lost all conscience and slaughtered innocent lives to forge Ghost Artifacts. In order to increase his Cultivation Base, hundreds have died at his hands.

Now he’s demanding the return of the lost Ghost-Sealing Scroll. You decide…”]

Once again, three choices: hand it over, refuse, or turn and run.

By now, Li Yi had basically figured out the System’s pattern. It looked like three options, but in reality, there was only one. The other options meant either a coffin or a spirit tablet-things that are of no use to the living.

Li Yi decisively chose the second option.

He shook his head and said, “You say this is yours-what proof do you have?”

“Is your name carved on it, or does it recognize you? If you call out to it, will it answer?”

Li Yi spoke with disdain, while a nameless rage rose in his heart.

Hundreds of lives lost at Wangfei Hospital, innocent passersby who died over the past twenty years-all of it was because this man forged Ghost Artifacts.

Though human in form, he had lost all conscience and disregarded human life.

Such a person is even more deserving of death than a Fierce Ghost.

“If you won’t give it, then die.” Wu Hao’s voice turned cold, and he slowly raised his right hand.

Li Yi paid close attention to this movement. Both men came from the Mount Longhu tradition-one lineage from this world, one from the System-so differences were inevitable.

But the Great Dao has many paths, all leading to the same end. He could see that Wu Hao was performing a truly unorthodox and sinister technique.

Disciples of the Master’s Lineage normally practice righteous, upright Thunder Techniques-invoking power and enforcing the law.

But some disciples take shortcuts. As the saying goes, “when yang reaches its peak, it turns to yin.” Once a disciple of the Master’s Lineage switches to the ghost path, their progress accelerates dramatically.

By this point, even Li Yi’s Yin Five Thunders could be considered a kind of Forbidden Technique.
