chapter 23
The Ghost Seeking Talisman could unconditionally track the whereabouts of a Fierce Ghost, perfectly solving Li Yi’s urgent problem.
Li Yi looked at the Talisman Paper in his hand, his brows relaxing and his mood lightening considerably.
With this Talisman Paper, he could finally know Zhang Na’s exact location.
Li Yi activated his True Qi and injected it into the Talisman Script. The Talisman Paper immediately reacted, flickering as if it was determining Zhang Na’s position.
Suddenly, it slipped from Li Yi’s hand and flew off in a certain direction. Li Yi hurriedly followed.
He knew the Talisman Paper was leading him to Zhang Na’s current location.
Following its guidance, he quickly arrived at the door of a room.
Was this Zhang Na’s room?
Li Yi looked up. The door was tightly locked, secured with a chain as thick as a finger. Without a key, an ordinary person would never get in.
[“Was the Streamer using a Spirit Talisman from the legends earlier?”]
[“Upstairs, what’s a Spirit Talisman?”]
[“You don’t even know about Spirit Talismans? Only those who have reached the Realm of True Person can use their own spiritual energy to construct Talisman Scripts.”]
[“So the Streamer is actually a Spirit Binder at the Realm of True Person?”]
[“That I’m not sure about. At the very least, there must be a Cultivator at the Realm of True Person supporting the Streamer.”]
[“I don’t really care about all that Realm stuff. I’m just curious how the Streamer plans to get into this room in front of him.”]
Just an iron door? It wants to stop him?
Li Yi sneered, addressing the Live Streaming Room: “Brothers, now the Streamer will teach you the simplest and most direct way to enter a room locked with iron chains.”
The barrage in the Live Streaming Room paused for a moment. The next instant, Li Yi fiercely kicked out.
The iron door swung open with a bang.
[“666, is this the Streamer’s method?”]
[“Damn, you couldn’t kick like that without twenty years of training.”]
[“Pfft, Streamer, can you teach us something normal people can use? Not everyone is as awesome as you.”]
Li Yi didn’t have time to check the barrage in the Live Streaming Room. After entering the room, he first glanced around, then walked further inside with confidence.
First came the overwhelming smell of dust, somewhat choking.
The room hadn’t been lived in for many years, and the furnishings were still as they had been twenty years ago.
The wall paint had peeled due to water leakage, and the corners were thick with cobwebs.
Was this Zhang Na’s bed?
Upon entering, the first thing he saw was a wooden bed, taking up almost half the room.
After all, this was a hospital, and the room was only meant for temporary accommodation, so it couldn’t be very large.
Li Yi searched all around but found no trace of Zhang Na.
What was going on?
The Ghost Seeking Talisman had led him here, so Zhang Na must have stayed here before. But why was she nowhere to be seen now?
Was she deliberately hiding from him? But he had come to help Zhang Na, and it was she who had left this location behind.
Since Zhang Na wanted him to find this place, why was she now hiding from him? It was very strange.
Li Yi stood by the bed, pondering. At that moment, a pale hand suddenly reached out from under the bed.
[“Streamer, is there someone under your feet?”]
[“Damn, you saw it too? I thought I was hallucinating.”]
[“Could it be another ghost?”]
A warning appeared in the barrage. Li Yi quickly looked down and saw a slender arm groping along the floor.
There was no doubt about it-this definitely wasn’t a human.
At that moment, another System prompt flashed in front of Li Yi’s eyes.
“You, on your quest to uncover the truth behind Zhang Na’s death at Wangfei Hospital, discover a Fierce Ghost in Zhang Na’s room. You decide to…”
“Option One: The Fierce Ghost hiding under the bed is just way too terrifying. You decide to pretend you didn’t see anything and just turn a blind eye.
Task Reward: One-Eyed Pirate’s Eyepatch. After putting on this eyepatch, your vision will become even sharper.”
“Option Two: This Fierce Ghost is hiding under the bed-clearly sneaking some tasty food. You decide to join it and hide under the bed as well.
Task Reward: Title-Ultimate Fool. While wearing this title, whether human or ghost, anyone who sees you…” [Note: original reward description is incomplete.]
“Option Three: Monsters and ghouls? Enough with all the hiding! You decide to just drag it out with brute force.
Task Reward: Master’s Cultivation (thirty).”
Presented with these three options, Li Yi chose the third without hesitation.
The rewards from the first two missions were pretty much useless to him.
Especially since he had the Yin-Yang Eyes as a passive skill-his eyesight was already way beyond ordinary people’s.
That eyepatch wouldn’t do him any good, but thirty points of Master’s Cultivation? Now that was actually useful.
But he still didn’t know who exactly the Fierce Ghost under the bed was.
Could it be Zhang Na?
Li Yi wasn’t sure. Why would this person be hiding under the bed?
“Nana, you’re not just a grown woman now-you’re a grown ghost! Still playing hide-and-seek? Lucky for you it’s your big bro Li here; if it were anyone else, they’d probably wet themselves from fright.”
“Come on out.”
Li Yi reached out, grabbed the pale arm stretching out from under the bed, and yanked it out.
But he saw an unfamiliar face, hair a tangled mess, rough skin-it was a woman.
“Shit! Screw you!”
Li Yi quickly let go, jumped to his feet, and kicked the ghost’s head right back under the bed.
Don’t blame him for the double standard-it’s just that this ghost’s face was so terrifying, the sudden shock nearly gave him a heart attack.
The ghost’s face was bleeding from every orifice, covered with deep, crisscrossing wounds, one eyeball even half out-utterly grotesque.
How could Li Yi not be frightened? This was nothing like his adorable Nana.
“Blinding Flash Grenade.”
Scared like that, Li Yi’s expression shifted rapidly. He quickly took out the Blinding Flash Grenade he had just gotten.
Tough luck for you-out of everyone, you had to scare Master Li. Well, now you won’t even get to be a ghost anymore.
Li Yi would never admit this was just him lashing out in embarrassment.
He pulled the pin from the Blinding Flash Grenade and tossed it right under the bed.
The next instant, a Fierce Ghost’s miserable howl echoed from below.
“You bastard! You dare to scare your Grandpa Li!”
Without hesitation, Li Yi flipped the bedboard, ready to drag the Fierce Ghost out and give it a beating.
“Huh? It’s actually gone.”
When he lifted the bedboard, what happened next surprised Li Yi-there was absolutely nothing under the bed.
Aside from a few empty cardboard boxes, not a single trace of anything else.
“Do you think I’m pretty?” A faint, ghostly voice sounded right next to Li Yi’s ear. He shuddered and turned his head, stiff as a board.
