Chapter 12
Chapter 12
In short, Young Guard Sun, the man who saved Anping, became a frequent visitor to Fenghuan Palace from that day forward.
He soon learned of Anping’s identity.
And before long, the two of them developed feelings for one another.
I watched with my own eyes as they grew closer by the day.
Anping had a gentle disposition. Though she wasn’t particularly brave, she was a girl of pure character, as soft and radiant as the halo around a crescent moon. It was hard not to like her.
Young Guard Sun’s sincerity toward her was beyond doubt. He went out of his way to make her happy, bringing all sorts of novelties and trinkets from outside the palace just for her.
He would also tell her many interesting stories and find storybooks to help her pass the time.
A smile gradually returned to Anping’s face, and she began to look forward to his visits.
Her eyes sparkled with joy, just as they had when she and I first met.
Though I felt a bit jealous, I had to admit that Sun Hanzhou was indeed a good match for her.
The man wasn’t bad-looking, his intentions toward Anping were pure, and he had the same silly, simple grin that she did.
I often watched the two of them with disdain. There they would be, sitting under the eaves sharing a book, yet not a single page would be turned. Every now and then, they would steal a glance at each other, only to lower their heads and giggle sheepishly.
Their grins were wider than a toad’s!
I couldn’t take it anymore. Grumbling to myself, I turned around and hopped off to find Xiao Lan.
How nauseatingly sweet. Xiao Lan and I would never be like that.
Whenever I so much as spare him a glance, he immediately understands and asks me what kind of mischief I’m cooking up now.
