Gu Xiaoyan, sitting beside him, tearfully tried to hold his hand, but he avoided her. His brows furrowed tightly, his expression filled with restrained impatience, and he spoke to Gu Xiaoyan in a very cold tone: “Stay away from me.”
Gu Xiaoyan was stunned for a moment, then sat there as tears fell in big drops.
Of course, even with her tear-stained face, she didn’t forget to glare at me fiercely, as if I were the instigator of all this.
Watching this scene, I actually felt a bit like laughing, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

But my heart had long since turned to dead water; no matter how lost or hesitant he was, he could no longer move me. I paused, then turned and walked away.
