Chapter 8
Chapter 8
A black cat was crouched at my feet, a still-flapping bird clamped in its jaws as fresh blood dripped down from its mouth.
Madam Jiang let out a shriek and hurried over to chase the cat away.
“Nai Lao, oh my god, what are you doing? Let go of that poor little bird!”
The black cat had a pair of strange eyes, one blue and one green, sparkling like gemstones. Madam Jiang tried to shoo it, but the cat didn’t budge. It just wrapped its paws tighter around the struggling bird, biting down even harder.
I took a few steps toward it. The cat arched its back, fur bristling, then hissed menacingly at me before tucking its tail and scurrying off.
Madam Jiang looked at me in a panic.
“Master Qiao, what’s gotten into Nai Lao? She’s so picky-she won’t touch milk unless it’s imported, only eats salmon and tuna, never anything like this.”
The Evil Energy had already begun to take shape, affecting animals first.
I turned and glanced downward. From the second floor, I could see the entire living room clearly.
There was a pillar at each of the four corners-east, south, west, and north. The two staircases framed a round platform in between, right at the northeast, marking the Xun Position.
I did a quick calculation with my fingers, my expression turning serious.
“Someone set up a Soul-Sealing Array in your home. Restless spirits are trapped inside, never able to find release. As time goes on and the Evil Energy builds, it will start to harm the living.”
“Re-Re…restless spirits?”
Madam Jiang went pale with terror.
“But… there haven’t been any deaths in our home! Where would a restless spirit come from?”
President Jiang gave a cold laugh.
“Nonsense. This is getting more and more absurd. Tao Qing, you’re an Ivy League graduate, and you actually believe this stuff?”
He rubbed his temples, looking utterly impatient.
“Can you please use some scientific reasoning?”
I shot him a frosty look.
“One more word and I’m gone.”
Madam Jiang instantly glared at her husband and pinched his arm; President Jiang gritted his teeth and walked to the side, trying to control his anger.
“Xun stands for wind and represents the eldest daughter. Wasn’t it your eldest who fell down these stairs a few days ago?”
Madam Jiang gasped, clasping her hands over her chest.
“Master Qiao, you’re amazing!”
President Jiang scoffed, “Heh, Haoyan must’ve told you, right?”
Jiang Haoyan protested, “Dad, I didn’t say anything. We barely even talk at school.”
President Jiang: “Sure you don’t.”
I ignored him and told Jiang Haoyan to take me to the room in the northeast corner.

The Earth Master Girl Makes Her Debut
Luxury cars picking me up at the school gate was a common sight. My roommate started a rumor that I had a sugar daddy, and even secretly took tons of pictures of me with middle-aged men. But not...
