Chapter 24

I bit my fingertip and smeared blood on the Thunderstruck Wood Talisman, then tossed it at Ling Ling.

“By Urgent Imperial Order!”

A bolt of lightning shot out from the talisman and split into a dense Thunder Net, wrapping around Ling Ling in an instant.

The class monitor yelled, “Ah, I can’t take it anymore! Are there cameramen around? Are we filming a movie? What kind of special effects are these?!”

I ignored him, too busy subduing Ling Ling.

The Deadly Curse really was powerful-in a matter of moments, she almost tore through my Thunder Net. I reached into my bag and pulled out the Dragon-Seeking Ruler, bringing it down right on her head.

Master Chen was staring at my Dragon-Seeking Ruler, his face practically drooling with envy.

“That ruler-is that the one Master Yang of the Tang Dynasty used? Tsk.”

It took all my strength, but I finally managed to seal away the Deadly Curse, stuffing it into the Thai Spirit Child sculpture and hiding it back in my bag.

Everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief. Lou’s Dad came rushing over and thanked me profusely, bowing repeatedly.

I gave him a dark look and scolded him. “You can’t keep things like this around! Thai Spirit Children are all evil spirits-if you can’t handle them, they’ll turn on you! It’s nothing but trouble for your family!”

Lou’s Dad shot Lou’s Mom a glare before continuing to apologize. “Master Qiao, I promise I’ll keep a close eye on her from now on.”

Then he turned to Lou Qianqian and roared, “What are you waiting for? Hurry up and apologize to Master Qiao!”

Lou Qianqian, her face flushed bright red, walked over. In the chaos earlier, her clothes had been accidentally torn by Ling Ling, and her hair was a mess, sticking up everywhere like a bird’s nest.

“Qiao Moyu, I… I’m sorry, I-wah!”

Scared out of her wits, Lou Qianqian burst into tears, sobbing so hard she could barely catch her breath as she clung to her mom’s arm.

“Mom, that was so scary, I thought I was going to die.”

Lou’s Mom also rushed over to apologize to me, the two of them clutching each other with pale faces, clearly still terrified.

I waved them off. Forget it-with my status, there’s no point fussing over a kid like her.

The scene was a complete mess. Lou’s Dad ordered people to clean everything up and to send the injured classmates to the hospital.

As we left the Lou Family home, Chen Zhen scurried after me, practically bouncing.

“Sect Master, you were amazing! Really, you’re incredible-

“Can you come to Hong Kong with me? I’ve got a really tricky job there. Even all of Hong Kong’s feng shui masters combined can’t handle it.”

I glanced at him curiously. “Tell me more.”

“You know Liu Xiong, the tycoon? Out of nowhere, the tombstone on his family’s ancestral grave cracked. For three months straight, every new tombstone they’ve put up has split right down the middle.”

A cracked tombstone is a major omen of misfortune in feng shui-descendants can suffer sudden disaster.

“Liu Xiong’s nearly lost his mind. He’s offering a high eight-figure price. Sect Master, if you come to Hong Kong, you’ll show all those clueless ‘masters’ what real skills look like.”

Eight figures? Ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand… I did a quick calculation and stopped in my tracks.

“Money’s not the main thing. I’ve just never been to Hong Kong-I’d like to go sightseeing.”

Hong Kong people are famously superstitious, but after all the upheaval back on the mainland, many lost touch with true arts, so they don’t take mainland occult masters seriously. It’s about time I show them what they’re missing.

But that’s another story.

End of Volume.

Luxury cars picking me up at the school gate was a common sight. My roommate started a rumor that I had a sugar daddy, and even secretly took tons of pictures of me with middle-aged men. But not...
