Chapter 9
Chapter 9
In the second year of traveling with my grandmother, I ran into a Senior from my high school days in a foreign land.
I vaguely remembered that back then, his grades were excellent, but he was a man of few words. I hadn’t had much contact with him; I just knew such a person existed.
Later, we attended the same university and inevitably crossed paths a few times, but we were never more than nodding acquaintances.
He was carrying a camera and a simple pack, also traveling from place to place.
Meeting an old acquaintance in a strange land, combined with the fact that our next destinations were the same, led us to simply decide to travel together.
Senior didn’t talk much, but he was respectful to his elders, observant, and knew how to make an old woman happy. Grandma liked him very much.
At night, as Grandma and I lay in bed looking at the stars through the skylight, she suddenly said, “That Xiao Su boy is quite nice.”
I understood what she meant, so I gave a couple of dry laughs. “He is quite nice.”
When it comes to matters of the heart, the elderly are always particularly sensitive.
But as for me and Senior…
Though we were like-minded, there was an unbridgeable chasm between us.
I admired him, but that didn’t mean I liked him.
I guessed he probably felt the same way about me.

He stared blankly at the girl in my arms for a long time before knitting...
