After being discharged from the hospital, I went to the office and resigned.

I had come to this city for Zhou Yisheng, and now I was leaving because of him as well.

When I thought about it carefully, I had spent almost my entire youth revolving around Zhou Yisheng.

Tsk. No wonder he got sick of me.

Realizing I had to be the one to cherish my own body, I rested at home for a month. Before leaving, I also listed the house with a real estate agency.

Two hours before I was scheduled to board my flight with my luggage packed, Zhou Yisheng suddenly called.

In the month since our divorce, we had made a clean break. There was no reason for us to be in contact, let alone for Zhou Yisheng to reach out first.

I hesitated for a moment before answering. “Hello?”

Zhou Yisheng’s flat voice came through the receiver. “You’re selling the house?”

I froze, instinctively countering with a question of my own. “Am I not allowed to?”

Silence stretched across the line. After a long pause, Zhou Yisheng said coldly, “Do as you please.”

With that, he hung up.

Ha. Did Zhou Yisheng still think I would indulge his temper like I used to?

Laughable.

I stared at my phone expressionlessly for a moment. Before heading out, I walked into a nearby service center and deactivated my SIM card.

From now on, I didn’t want to have any connection with Zhou Yisheng ever again.
