Chapter 1
Chapter 1
On the day Zhou Yisheng laid his cards on the table, I had just found out I was pregnant. I hadn’t even had the chance to show him the lab results in my hand.
Zhou Yisheng sat on the sofa and told me with a cold, hard attitude that he had cheated six months ago. Now, the other woman was pregnant, and he wanted to keep the child, which meant he had to divorce me.
I doubted my own ears, wondering if I had misheard, but before I could even ask, Zhou Yisheng anticipated what I was going to say. He looked me in the eye and told me expressionlessly, “You didn’t hear wrong.”
It felt like my heart was being pricked by a thousand needles; a dense, numbing pain spread through me until I could barely remain standing.
I never thought my marriage would have problems.
Zhou Yisheng was very handsome, but he had a cold personality and was a slow burner. Back in school, he was a renowned science whiz. Many girls liked him, but I was the only one who pursued him relentlessly for two years before finally winning him over.
I truly, deeply loved him.
After we got together, even though I was the one reaching out most of the time, he naturally grew accustomed to my presence.
We registered our marriage right after graduating from university.
Three years of dating, two years of marriage-we had only been together for five years, and he was already tired of me?
I couldn’t accept this reality. With trembling hands, I reached into my bag for the lab results, wanting to tell Zhou Yisheng that I was pregnant too.
Halfway through, I suddenly stopped. Tears fell like broken strings of pearls. What would be the point of taking it out?
I asked myself: even if Zhou Yisheng, who had cheated, agreed to return to the family and continue living with me, would I still want him?
I wouldn’t.
I found him disgusting.
Utterly disgusting.

The Divorcee’s Second Chance
Six years after our divorce, I ran into my ex-husband on a street corner while holding my three-year-old daughter.
He stared blankly at the girl in my arms for a long time before knitting...
