Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Erzhu was already dead?!
Cold sweat instantly broke out on my forehead. If he was dead, then who was it that I just saw?
Under normal circumstances, a mother should be grieving when her child dies.
So why was his mother so happy?
Crash!
Just then, a dark shadow flashed past the window.
“Who’s there?!”
I shouted, grabbing a stool as I rushed outside to investigate.
The area outside the window was empty.
Only the distant sound of cicadas echoed through the darkness.
Was I just being paranoid?
After checking the surroundings twice and confirming there was nothing strange, I breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
Returning to the room, I continued flipping through the diary.
[July 13th, Overcast.]
[We held the funeral for Erzhu. Everyone was so indifferent. I discovered a secret…]
My heart skipped a beat, and I hurried to turn the page.
However, the content that followed was disappointing; many of the pages had been torn out.
When text appeared again, the date had already reached July 16th.
[I must escape! I must escape! I must escape!!]
I flipped further, only to find more large sections torn away.
The content was missing.
Only the very last page remained intact.
But this page didn’t look like a diary entry; there was no date, no weather, and not even any punctuation.
Large, scrawled characters nearly filled the entire sheet:
[WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T ESCAPE WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T ESCAPE WHATEVER YOU DO DON’T ESCAPE]
I could almost feel the terror seeping through the paper.
What kind of secret was hidden here?
The last two entries were so contradictory.
“Sis, what exactly did you go through during this time?”
My mind was a tangled mess.
Suddenly, I felt a strange sensation of being watched. I instinctively looked up, and my skin crawled instantly!
A pair of bulging eyes were peering over the edge of the window frame!
“Big Black Dog!”
I jolted in fright.
A gust of night wind blew past, making the old wooden window creak and groan.
In the blink of an eye, the Black Dog at the window vanished.
Clatter-
The sound of wood thumping came from outside. Looking through the window, I saw the courtyard gate had been opened.
The Big Black Dog walked in first.
Following behind was the Village Chief, moving at a leisurely pace. Sensing my gaze, he turned his head and slowly pulled his face into a smile:
“Did you find anything?”

My sister went to Yunnan to teach as a volunteer, but shortly after, she vanished.
All she left behind was a bizarre post on her social media feed:
