Chapter 2

This was the fourth time this week.

Ever since I moved into this dorm room, I’d started having frequent dreams. Two men appeared in every dream. I couldn’t see their faces clearly.

One was older, gentle and warm, with long, slender fingers and an expensive watch on his wrist. His voice was so sultry it made my legs go weak-the very image of a refined scoundrel.

The other was younger. Although he always spoke with a smile, he was aggressive through and through, showing me no mercy whatsoever.

They both claimed to be my boyfriend.

And they certainly went all out to put me through the wringer.

Every time I woke up, my whole body would ache. I even had to lean against the bedpost for a moment just to catch my breath before I could stand.

“Xianxian, we’re going to be late for anatomy class. Are you coming?”

Bailu, clutching her textbooks, interrupted my thoughts.

I was a medical student and a staunch atheist. So, I dismissed those strange dreams as nothing more than the result of too much stress at the start of the semester.

But I didn’t dare tell Bailu.

She was delicate and timid, the type who would huddle in a corner even while watching a horror movie. It was better not to mention this to her.
