Chapter 1
“Look at you… you’re so beautiful…”
A large hand, elegant and slender, rested across my collarbone.
Yet, I couldn’t see his face.
“Xianxian, wake up!”
Someone suddenly jolted me from my slumber.
My roommate, Bailu, sat by the edge of the bed with a worried expression. She reached out to touch my sweat-drenched forehead.
“Xianxian, do you have a fever? Your face is so red. Do you want to go to the hospital?”
I was lying on my small dorm bed, soaked in sweat. My heart hammered against my ribs, and my entire body ached.
“I’m… fine.” My voice was hoarse the moment I spoke.
The dormitory alarm clock ticked away.
I moved my wrists; the lingering pain from the dream felt strangely real.
Before I was woken up, those two crazed men were discussing how to bind my hands and hang me in front of the floor-length mirror…
