Chapter 11
Chapter 11
When I woke up in the morning, I found that the Male Ghost had been awake for quite some time.
He remained lying flat on his back, his arm still serving as my pillow. He was staring blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought.
I watched him silently for a long while, until a yawn finally escaped me.
His expression instantly shifted, his face clouding over with that familiar mix of bashfulness and displeasure. He quickly pulled back the arm I had been resting on all night.
Rubbing the back of my neck, which felt icy cold, I asked sleepily, “Is your arm sore?”
The Male Ghost replied coldly, “Dead people don’t have feelings.”
“Is that so?” I nodded solemnly, then promptly grabbed his arm again to use as a pillow. I turned on my side to face him, nestling into his side as if he were holding me in his arms.
“Do you feel anything now?” As soon as the words left my mouth, I leaned toward his face and stole another kiss.
“Qu… Ling… Ling!”
He ground his teeth, yet he allowed me to do as I pleased.
I couldn’t help but want to laugh.
Did he not realize that the more he acted like this, the more I wanted to tease him?
Suddenly, another thought occurred to me. I looked at him seriously and asked, “By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask-how did you know my name?”
On the very first morning after I moved in, when he had deliberately tried to scare me, he had written my name on the mirror in blood.
The Male Ghost looked a bit awkward. “I just knew.”
He struggled for a moment, tossing aside the blanket in an attempt to escape.
Seeing this, I quickly wrapped my arms around his waist, clinging to him like an octopus with all my limbs.
This ghost was simply too much fun when he was shy.
He clearly acted reluctant, yet he never actually did anything to stop me.
To me, his constant “no” was essentially an invitation.
It felt as if our roles had been reversed; it was as if he were the harmless human and I was the demoness hounding a young scholar.
In the past, I never would have acted this way. But because I only had a few days left to live, I had nothing left to worry about. If I didn’t enjoy myself now, my twenty-odd years on this earth would have been for nothing.
I threatened him like a complete rogue. “If you don’t tell the truth, I’m not letting go.”
The Male Ghost’s face was a picture of helplessness.
After a moment of silence, he looked at me and said with utter confusion, “Qu Lingling, I really couldn’t tell you were this kind of person before.”
