Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Liang Fei turned his head and saw that the female ghost had already made herself at home, standing to the side and munching on the fried chicken he had made.
Do female ghosts love fried chicken these days?
It was no exaggeration to say that this was the best fried chicken Yun Youyou had ever eaten.
The skin was fried to a fragrant crisp, and inside the golden crust was tender, delicious chicken, so succulent it was dripping with juice.
Both the oil temperature and the timing were controlled perfectly.
With just one bite, Yun Youyou felt her empty stomach finally find some solace.
It was so good it could bring tears to one’s eyes.
Liang Fei watched Yun Youyou eat the fried chicken, dumbfounded.
“The fried chicken you made is seriously delicious! Just for this skill alone, I’ll protect you even if it costs me my life.”
Yun Youyou held a piece of fried chicken in one hand and gave him a thumbs-up with the other.
“It would be even better if there was some sauce, though.”
As soon as she spoke, Liang Fei eagerly pulled out some honey mustard sauce he had prepared earlier.
“Sister Ghost, try this.”
He never imagined that his fried chicken skills would actually carve out a path to survival from a ghost.
Yun Youyou dipped a piece into the honey mustard; it was indeed even better.
It would be a real shame if this talent didn’t open a shop.
After finishing, Yun Youyou picked up a tissue to wipe her mouth and asked casually, “Where did you find this chicken and the sauce?”
Liang Fei pointed to the freezer. “I found them all over there.”
The two of them walked over to the freezer.
Yun Youyou rummaged through it and indeed found quite a bit of food.
There were also frozen fries and steaks.
Yun Youyou picked up a pack of steak and instinctively checked the expiration date.
March 13, 2003.
!!!
Yun Youyou suddenly had a bad feeling. She quickly dug out the remaining half-pack of chicken and found its production date.
August 6, 2001.
Yun Youyou’s hands were trembling.
It was over. She had eaten the ancestor of all chickens-a Zombie Chicken.
Liang Fei fell silent beside her.
When he was making the fried chicken just now, he hadn’t looked at the expiration date at all.
“What should I do? I won’t die from eating this, will I?”
Yun Youyou’s voice was shaking.
Liang Fei scratched the back of his head. “Aren’t you already dead?”
That made sense. She was already a ghost.
Since she was already dead, Yun Youyou had no more worries.
She was already dead anyway; it wasn’t like she could die again.
Yun Youyou returned to the table and started munching on the rest of the fried chicken.
“Do you want some?”
Liang Fei shook his head so hard it almost flew off.
He was still alive; he didn’t want to become a Male Ghost just yet.
Seeing that Yun Youyou had no intention of attacking him and was quite pure and beautiful, Liang Fei unconsciously let down his guard.
“Sister Ghost, have you never thought about reincarnating?”
“Reincarnate? To where? I’m already satisfied just maintaining the status quo.”
Seeing Yun Youyou’s depressed expression, Liang Fei couldn’t help but ask, “Do ghosts have a lot of worries too?”
It would have been better if he hadn’t asked; the question only made Yun Youyou more depressed.
Thinking about how she couldn’t beat anyone, was now burdened with massive debt, and how that shitty Game didn’t even pay a salary while desperately exploiting its employees…
A wave of sorrow washed over Yun Youyou, and she took a bite of fried chicken in grief and indignation.
“Sooner or later, I’m going to establish a Labor Ghost Rights Protection Law to defend my legal rights!”
Yun Youyou held her chicken leg high, looking like a migrant worker determined to start an uprising.
Liang Fei hadn’t expected a ghost like Yun Youyou to have such a strong sense of legal awareness, so he immediately clapped with all his might.
“Great! I’ll lend you a hand too. If you need anything, just say the word!”
Liang Fei slapped his chest, his expression fervent.
Yun Youyou didn’t stand on ceremony. “Alright, I happen to have an important task for you.”
“What is it?”
“Can you fry some more chicken wings? I don’t have quite enough to eat.”
“…”
Liang Fei comforted himself in his heart.
*It’s fine. You can only work on a full stomach.*
He immediately heated up the oil in the wok, deciding to cheer Yun Youyou on through food.
By the time Ji Lin found them, he saw a human and a ghost: one was busily frying chicken wings with the oil crackling in the wok, while the other sat to the side with her head down, gnawing on wings, a pile of bones already on the table.
Ji Lin had been worried and had come specifically to check on Liang Fei.
He hadn’t expected the guy to be enjoying his role as a chef so much; his concern had been for nothing.
Yun Youyou was the sharp-eyed one, spotting Ji Lin leaning against the doorframe immediately.
“Cough, cough, cough…”
Startled, Yun Youyou choked, coughing until tears came to her eyes.
The moment she saw Ji Lin, she remembered the massive debt she owed him. Suddenly, the fried chicken in her hand didn’t taste so good anymore.
Liang Fei also sensed something was off and looked back.
“Brother Ji, why are you here all of a sudden?”
Liang Fei turned around happily and hurried over to Ji Lin’s side.
“I came to check on you. I didn’t know you had this kind of skill.”
Ji Lin glanced at the fried chicken in Yun Youyou’s hand.
“Brother Ji, do you want a taste? They’re fresh out of the fryer and smell amazing!”
Like showing off a treasure, Liang Fei was about to hand the fried chicken to Ji Lin.
Yun Youyou suddenly coughed a few more times.
This time, Liang Fei finally remembered.
This wasn’t an ordinary chicken; it was a Zombie Chicken that was nearly as old as he was.
Seeing Liang Fei suddenly freeze, Ji Lin’s suspicious gaze immediately swept over.
“What’s wrong?”
“Never mind, Brother Ji, you’d better not eat it. I’m afraid it might make you sick.”
Liang Fei placed the fried chicken back in front of Yun Youyou. “Sister Ghost, you should eat more of it instead.”
Yun Youyou: “…”
*Fine, I guess my life doesn’t count for anything.*
However, with Ji Lin there, Yun Youyou couldn’t eat anymore.
She decided to find a quiet place to eat, so she picked up the plate and floated out.
Just as she was about to disappear through the doorway, Yun Youyou’s figure suddenly froze in mid-air.
After thinking for a moment, she turned around and said, “Be careful tomorrow.”
The fried chicken was so delicious that Yun Youyou was a bit reluctant to let it disappear.
However, the chances of these Players surviving were slim; only Ji Lin looked like he might be capable.
So much time had passed, yet they didn’t seem to have a single clue.
If Yun Youyou herself hadn’t been clueless about how to clear the Instance, she would have told them the answer long ago.
Oh well, life and death were up to fate.
At worst, they would all just become her new colleagues!
Yun Youyou found a deserted classroom and quietly enjoyed her fried chicken.
With her stomach full, sleepiness washed over her, so she found a spot to take a nap.
In her daze, she felt herself getting colder and colder, as if she had been thrown into an ice cellar. Yet, her stomach felt like it was churning with fire, burning her internal organs until they ached.
Yun Youyou curled up, her lips flushed with an unusual crimson, looking like a vampire who had just finished a feast.
She felt both hot and cold, her mouth parched, desperately wanting to devour something.
The faint sound of a bell echoed from outside.
