Chapter 6
Chapter 6
I opened my eyes to the second day.
It was seven in the morning, and the sky was already bright.
My roommates were waking up one after another.
I had an 8:00 AM class, so I had to move quickly.
Zhou Yiqiang and Huang Pang were the same as ever, scurrying off to the Library whenever they didn’t have class.
Perhaps even they hadn’t realized they were so passionate about studying.
Today, Sun Huawen also planned to head to the Library to check things out.
Xiao Ze and Tao Ran were in the same miserable boat as me, having to attend an 8:00 AM class, but our paths didn’t align.
It looked like I was destined to go to this class alone.
“Everyone, stay in touch and stay safe. Also, don’t come back to the dorm after eight,” Sun Huawen nagged us repeatedly like an old mother.
After packing my things, I set out alone toward the unknown. For a moment, I felt desolate, pitiful, and melancholy.
I opened the dormitory door and saw that the door across from us-the one that had opened during the dormitory check last night-had turned white.
A door as pale as wallpaper… it felt eerie.
A few students walked out of that white door, laughing and chatting. They looked no different from normal people.
But they were definitely no longer normal.
Was this the legendary “Annihilated Dormitory”?
One of the people from the White Dormitory greeted me. I gave a perfunctory, forced smile in return.
Being so close to a room like that made my skin crawl.
I arrived at the classroom ten minutes early, but I didn’t expect my classmates to be so competitive.
The room was packed, with only one seat left.
You guys came this early? Doesn’t that violate the rules?
Then again, the rules didn’t seem to say it wasn’t allowed?
Damn it, every single one of them is sharp as a tack.
I had no choice but to take the only empty seat.
Only after sitting down did I realize that the person next to me was the guy who had been scrolling through TikTok during Advanced Mathematics yesterday.
Now I felt like I couldn’t stay, yet I couldn’t leave.
Whatever. You can’t talk in the classroom anyway, so he shouldn’t be able to bother me. At worst, I’ll just leave as soon as class ends and stay far away from him.
I never expected he would come so prepared. He passed me a small note.
It read: *I remember you. You asked me a question last time. As a reward, you’re coming to eat with me after class. You won’t refuse me, right?*
Shouldn’t I obviously refuse you?
I don’t even know your name, okay!
Just as I was about to decline, he handed me another note.
It read: *Everyone who refused me is dead. I’m not threatening you.*
How is that not a threat?
I didn’t know what kind of tricks these guys had up their sleeves, so for now, I could only agree.
I nodded.
I couldn’t pay attention to a single word of this class, though I usually can’t pay attention to lectures anyway.
The most important thing right now was getting rid of this guy.
Now I knew: don’t casually ask abnormal people for help. Don’t even ask them questions, because they will demand double the reward in return.
If you refuse, it’s likely a dead end.
[Don’t owe abnormal students favors. Not even a little.]
After a period of frantic worrying, a flash of inspiration hit me.
[Outside the dormitory, if there is a problem, find the Counselor.]
I was definitely facing a big problem right now.
After class ended, I stepped out of the classroom and said to the guy, “Wait for me a moment. I need to go upstairs to grab something.”
He gave me a strange smile and said, “Don’t try to run. I can find you no matter where you go, and you will be punished.”
“I’m not running, I’m not running. Just wait for me for half an hour.”
“Fine.”
I ran quickly toward the Counselor’s office on the fourth floor.
Just now, by asking that guy to wait for me, I had technically owed him another favor.
If the Counselor couldn’t save me, I’d have to ask Huang Pang to help pick out a coffin for me.
Reaching the door of the Counselor’s office, I knocked.
“Come in.”
After entering, I explained the situation to the Counselor.
The Counselor didn’t say a word from beginning to end. He simply handed me a piece of paper and waved for me to leave.
Standing outside the office door, I opened the note. There were three lines written on it.
[1. The Principal’s Office can be visited, but it is not permitted to say that the Principal’s Office can be visited.]
[2. Sending abnormal students to the Principal’s Office is correct.]
[3. Abnormal students have muddled memories; they have long since forgotten the rules.]
The paper quickly turned to powder after I finished reading it.
I only had one path to survival: get that guy to go to the Principal’s Office.
But how could I make him go there?
Should I just try saying it directly?
Returning to the guy’s side, the first thing I said was, “The Principal wants you to go to his office.”
“The Principal’s Office can be visited?” he asked back.
At that moment, my heart leaped into my throat. Had he realized I was setting a trap for him?
[Abnormal students have muddled memories; they have long since forgotten the rules.]
In other words, he had forgotten the rule that said the Principal’s Office was off-limits.
Just as I was about to answer “It can be visited,” I paused.
[It is not permitted to say that the Principal’s Office can be visited.]
So, I changed my tune: “Just go already, the Principal is looking for you. Hurry up. Don’t we have to eat? I’m starving. I’ll wait for you for half an hour; if you’re not back, I’m leaving.”
“Fine.”
Watching the guy leave, my nerves remained stretched to the breaking point.
What if he came back unscathed?
Then I really wouldn’t know what to do.
The only thing I could do was pray that he wouldn’t return.
Time ticked by, minute by minute. Fortunately, half an hour passed, and he didn’t come back.
Through this incident, I gained a piece of information.
[The Principal’s Office is the correct place to deal with abnormal students.]
I summarized what had just happened and sent it to the dormitory group chat.
