Chapter 15
Chapter 15
In the afternoon, everyone in our dorm went to the Library.
Fortunately, we arrived early and managed to snag some seats.
Xiao Ze and Huang Pang were sitting quite close to us.
Sun Huawen sent a message to our group chat: “Do not share any information from this group with anyone else, including Xiao Ze and Huang Pang.”
I understood the reasoning.
By now, the interests of our Neutral Faction were no longer aligned with the Rule Faction. Although no direct conflict of interest had occurred yet, people are…
Well, even though I used to be on such good terms with Xiao Ze, I was now firmly standing with my own team.
Now, we were just waiting for Sun Huawen to finish analyzing the timing.
Sun Huawen sent another message: “Day five. We leave at 4:00 AM.”
Next, Sun Huawen began to explain to us why we had to leave at 4:00 AM:
The wolf pack refers to some kind of danger; I don’t know exactly what it is.
The information said that you can go see the moon at 4:00 AM, and if you’re lucky, the wolf pack will let down its guard.
What does “lucky” mean?
Luck is a matter of probability.
According to the rules, we have to stay at the school for seven days.
If there is a day within those seven days when the wolf pack lets down its guard, then a probability is created-that is what it means to be lucky.
The key is, which day will the wolf pack let down its guard?
Do you remember which number ran away?
Right, 5 ran away.
The 5th day represents that one-in-seven probability. That is the moment of being lucky, the moment the wolf pack lets down its guard.
I still haven’t figured out what that Brother Problem in the middle means.
Zhou Yiqiang replied immediately: “It’s fine, maybe it’s just a Decoy Option. Don’t worry about it; I can’t wait to escape.”
If we hadn’t obtained the information about escaping on the fifth day, then the information Zhou Yiqiang provided would have been meaningless.
The pieces of information were all interlinked. We were truly lucky to have collected enough information from such random sources to piece together a path to survival.
According to Sun Huawen’s analysis, the rule we were going to break this time was:
[Do not leave the dormitory after midnight; you must wait until dawn.]
After leaving the Library, Xiao Ze asked us, “Want to grab dinner together?”
“Maybe tomorrow. Zhou Yiqiang’s on a diet lately and insisted we join him,” I replied.
“Why the sudden diet?”
“He’s afraid he’ll be too fat to outrun the Student Council.”
Xiao Ze didn’t ask any further. Perhaps he also knew that even if he did, he would only get nonsense in return.
It wasn’t 8:00 PM yet, so we couldn’t go back to the dorm.
So, the four of us walked around the school side by side.
Even though danger lurked everywhere, it didn’t stop us from chatting and laughing.
More and more people were becoming Dog-Seers, but it seemed they couldn’t just let the Student Council attack people at will.
There were conditions.
What those conditions were, I didn’t know, and I didn’t care.
Maybe they could only attack people they knew personally?
In any case, we didn’t meet the conditions.
After wandering around, we ended up back at the cafeteria entrance just as Xiao Ze and Huang Pang were coming out.
“Heading back together?” Xiao Ze asked.
“Sure,” we agreed.
I knew this was the last time we would walk back to the dorm with them.
We…
Without realizing it, Xiao Ze and Huang Pang were no longer included in “we.”
They were now “them.”
Walking into the dormitory, the sight of the vast expanse of white doors looked incredibly bleak.
Even though my ears were filled with the voices of students, most of them weren’t my former classmates. They only made me feel cold, terrified, and stiff.
Fortunately, our dorm door was still standing strong.
The door had been repaired.
After entering the room, everyone stared at their phones in silence.
This lasted until the dormitory check.
Fortunately, Xiao Ze and Huang Pang didn’t open their door.
As time went on, I trusted Xiao Ze and Huang Pang less and less.
After the dormitory check ended, Tao Ran suddenly shouted, “The dog is outside!”
We all gave Tao Ran a strange look.
“Just a joke,” Tao Ran said with an awkward laugh.
I knew that Tao Ran didn’t trust Xiao Ze and Huang Pang anymore either.
In a few more hours, we would be making our escape.
Would we succeed? I had no idea.
What if the Bathroom Person had lied to us?
I grew increasingly restless.
I thought back to the person I saw escaping when I went to the Library last time.
And that second piece of information about the three brothers-was it really just a Decoy Option like Zhou Yiqiang said?
