Chapter 3

You really can’t judge a book by its cover; I never would have guessed he was so open-minded.

I shuffled to the bathroom, stiff as a wooden statue.

When I finished my shower and came back out, I saw the Ghost Groom lying on the bed again.

Wasn’t there supposed to be a wedding night? Why was he going to sleep so early?

I walked to the bedside, hesitating over whether I should wake him up.

I pressed my palm against the mattress for support, only to feel something wet and sticky.

I pulled back the covers to take a look.

Good heavens, the bed was covered in blood!

And the Ghost Groom was unconscious.

This was a disaster! This wasn’t what people meant by ‘seeing red’ on the wedding night! I hadn’t even done anything yet!

I quickly hoisted him onto my back to take him to a doctor.

Once the dead arrive in the underworld, they become light as air, almost weightless, so this wasn’t difficult for me.

At the hospital, the doctor flipped the unconscious Ghost Groom’s eyelids, checked his tongue, pinched his ears, and performed a thorough examination.

Finally, he stared at me in shock and said, “Where did you get this man? His lifespan hasn’t ended yet!”

Those words scared the life out of me.

After an agonizing wait, my Ghost Groom finally woke up.

I hurriedly asked him, “You’re awake? What’s your name? Where are you from? How did you die… wait, no! Are you actually not dead at all?”

The Ghost Groom leaned calmly against the headboard. Faced with my flood of questions, he only responded with two words: “Guan Yi.”

His name was Guan Yi.

Back to the main point-now I just wanted to figure out how on earth he ended up in a Yin Marriage with me.

He knitted his brows and asked me back, “Yin Marriage? I was here when I woke up. The person who brought me here told me to wait for you to pick me up.”

That was probably the longest sentence he had spoken so far. His voice was steady and pleasant, living up to his handsome appearance.

However, I couldn’t afford to be interested in him anymore.

The doctor had clearly said his lifespan hadn’t ended!

Seeing that he couldn’t explain the situation himself, I decided to go back up to the world of the living to ask my parents.
