“But we haven’t been able to get in touch with him for a long time. There was a period when we had some supply issues and wanted to ask if we could substitute them with other flowers, but he never replied.”
“Do you know him?”
The shop owner looked up at me, but her expression suddenly turned panicked.
“…Ma’am, are-are you alright?”
I rubbed my aching eyes and waved a hand dismissively.
“I’m fine, I’m fine.”
The shop owner was very understanding.
She handed me a pack of tissues and brewed a cup of floral tea for me.
Then, she turned away to tend to the flowers.
I sat in the shop for a long while until I felt calm. Finally, I picked out a bouquet of daisies and prepared to leave.
When I went to pay, the shop owner suddenly stopped me.
“There’s no need to pay for this bouquet.”
I looked at her, a bit dazed.
A look of recollection appeared on her face.
“Ma’am, I just remembered. Mr. Ji said back then that someone might come to ask about this order in the future.
“He said if she came alone, I should give her a bouquet of flowers.
“And to tell her: Keep moving forward; the starlight will illuminate the path ahead.”
