chapter 5
I had just put everything back in its place.
The bathroom door swung open.
Ren Mingyang walked out, towel-drying his damp hair.
Seeing me sitting on the bed, he paused for a moment.
“Honey, it’s so late. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
His voice was as gentle as ever.
I looked up, my gaze meeting his.
In that instant,
Tears welled up uncontrollably.
It was as if my emotions had finally found an outlet.
Ren Mingyang panicked the moment he saw me crying.
He hurried over to my side, eyes full of concern:
“Honey, why are you crying? Did you have a nightmare? You can’t shed tears during postpartum confinement, or you’ll end up with postpartum illness.”
His movements were so gentle.
If I hadn’t seen those chat records with my own eyes, I could almost believe his concern was real.
So, love really can be acted out so convincingly.
My eyes were red as I stared at him, my voice trembling:
“Honey, I just dreamed that you cheated on me.”
Ren Mingyang froze for a second, then let out a soft laugh and pulled me into his arms.
“Silly, dreams are always the opposite. You might as well dream that I died.”
I clenched my hands so tightly my nails nearly dug into my skin, but I still pretended to joke as I asked him:
“Honey, I’m fat and ugly now. Do you still love me?”
Ren Mingyang let go of me, cupped my face in his hands, his gaze full of affection.
Then he lowered his head and placed a reverent kiss on my forehead.
“My wife will always be the most beautiful woman in the world. Besides, it took me ten years to win you over-how could I ever stop loving you?”
Yes.
Ren Mingyang pursued me for ten years.
He would even give me one of his kidneys.
I used to believe that pigs could climb trees before I would ever believe Ren Mingyang would cheat.
But reality is just that cruel.
Those chat records were like thorns,
Piercing deep into my heart,
Making me bleed.
I looked into his eyes and spoke, word by word.
“Honey, if you really cheated on me, would you die for it?”
A hint of discomfort flashed across his face,
But he quickly regained his composure.
“I would never cheat, even if it killed me.”
Finally, I smiled.
Ren Mingyang.
You said it yourself.
Anyone who betrays true love deserves to die.
Ren Mingyang smiled too.
He reached out and ruffled my hair, his tone light:
“That’s more like it. My wife looks best when she smiles.”

Secretly Replacing My Husband’s Lube with 502
I found a bottle of women’s lubricant in my husband’s bag.
I didn’t argue or make a scene.
I quietly replaced it with a bottle of 502 super glue.
