After witnessing that scene, we were silent for a long time. Bai Cancan quietly drew the curtains shut.
In the end, it was Ye Tiancheng who spoke: “There are 13 people left, and five days to go. For a level-four instance, this death rate is too low. More people will probably die in the next few days. We need to hurry and find Marie.”
I said, “I wonder what Xu Ling’s boyfriend wanted the Pendant for when he took it just now.”
Ye Tiancheng replied, “He risked being attacked just to get it back. It must be a very important item.”
Bai Cancan grinned and said, “If we get a chance to snatch it and study it, we’ll find out.”
From the look of it, Bai Cancan really disliked that guy.
Morning came quickly, and we had survived another night in peace.

We opened the door and stepped outside.
Other players who had been hiding emerged from all directions as well.
One of them, a tall female player with a high ponytail, walked over.
She said to Ye Tiancheng, “I heard you had quite an exciting day yesterday-almost got killed?”
I looked over in surprise, just in time to see Xu Ling’s boyfriend behind her, turning his head away awkwardly.
Ye Tiancheng’s expression remained calm: “Anyone could die at any time in an instance. What’s so special about that? What do you want? Surely you didn’t come just to laugh at me?”
The female player smiled. “Then I’ll get straight to the point. Want to team up?”
Ye Tiancheng: “How do you want to cooperate?”
The female player said, “I have a lead on Marie. Your group distracts the Nutcracker, the Organs go to us, and you get the points.”
Ye Tiancheng: “Points are split evenly. As for the Organs, whoever grabs them keeps them.”
“Why should we agree to that!” Xu Ling’s boyfriend shouted. “We found the clue, so the Organs are ours!”
“Fine,” the female player interrupted him, reaching out her hand to Ye Tiancheng. “Liu Yating. Looking forward to working together.”
Ye Tiancheng also extended his hand. “Cheng Qichen. Looking forward to working together.”
