By the time the meeting ended, it was already late.

I took out my phone and realized Gu Yi’an had called me several times.

I hadn’t picked up any of them.

While sending back a text, I turned to my secretary and asked, “Did something happen?”

“This morning, Miss Song went to your house to see Young Master Gu. She said… she said…”

He looked hesitant.

I tapped the car door lightly with my fingernail, growing impatient. “Speak.”

“She said she’s a lawyer now. If Young Master Gu wants a divorce, she can provide legal assistance.”

I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Interesting.”

“Let’s go home tonight.”

The secretary looked startled but still complied with a quick, “Yes, ma’am.”

The driver turned the car around and headed toward my house.

I opened my phone and saw a new Live Photo sent by my latest flame, Jiang Xu.

He was wearing a white shirt in a warm tone.

Standing in the kitchen, he was clumsily lifting a plate out of a steamer.

He got burned and hurriedly reached up to rub his earlobe.

It was quite cute.

“Dinner is just one dish away from being ready. Huaiyin, when are you coming over?”

After a moment’s thought, I had my secretary transfer him some money.

“Something came up tonight. I’ll visit you on set another day.”

At the top of the screen, the words “Typing…” flickered for a long time.

After a while, Jiang Xu replied.

“Okay.”

“I know, you’re going back to celebrate his birthday, aren’t you?”

“He’s the legal husband, after all. It’s only right.”

Now it was my turn to freeze.

So today was Gu Yi’an’s birthday.
