Chapter 68

There were no better options.

Jian Fan opened the Points Mall.

He began browsing through the items in the store, hoping to find something useful for them. Although it would cost some Points, the most urgent priority right now was ensuring they could successfully leave this world.

Just as Jian Fan was searching for a tool, Mu Xin suddenly burst into a smile.

“I have a way,” Mu Xin said.

Jian Fan stopped searching the mall and turned his head toward Mu Xin.

Mu Xin didn’t offer much of an explanation. Instead, she suddenly reached out and touched the front of her neck, then spoke with a look of anxiety: “My necklace is missing! It’s very expensive. Help me find it, quickly!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Mu Xin didn’t even wait for the two of them to respond before she bent over and started searching the nearby area.

Mu Xin didn’t even have a necklace. Besides, no matter how precious it was, could it be more important than one’s life? Qin Nan and Jian Fan quickly realized what Mu Xin’s plan was.

Qin Nan and Jian Fan exchanged a look and also began pretending to help search the area.

Soon, a passing Bar employee noticed the three of them seemingly looking for something and immediately approached them.

“Guests, do you need any help?” the employee asked.

Mu Xin and the others had been acting for so long just waiting for them to come over. As soon as the question was asked, Mu Xin immediately feigned anxiety and said, “My necklace is gone. It’s very expensive.” As she spoke, Mu Xin began to cry. Her tears flowed freely; even though she was wearing a mask, one could see the tears streaming out from beneath it.

Qin Nan watched, absolutely amazed.

This speed and intensity of crying-who wouldn’t call it impressive?

Mu Xin continued her performance.

“Can I go check the surveillance? I’ve searched everywhere I can. I’m afraid it wasn’t lost, but…” Mu Xin sobbed and continued, “…but stolen.”

The employee looked a bit troubled. “This… Guest, can we help you look for it together? Our surveillance isn’t open to the public.”

“I lost something, why can’t I see it?” Mu Xin immediately shifted into a domineering attitude. “Do you know how much that necklace cost? Hundreds of thousands! Are you guys in league with the thief who stole my necklace?”

“Guest, our Bar is a legitimate business. How could we be in league with a thief?” The Bar employee seemed somewhat helpless.

“Then why won’t you let me see?” Mu Xin started crying again. “It’s really expensive, what am I going to do? Just let me look at the surveillance, please, I’m begging you. Or should I call the police? Can I see the surveillance once the police get here?”

Seeing Mu Xin crying so heartrendingly, the employee showed some sympathy and tentatively said, “Um, Guest, let me ask our manager for instructions.”

Mu Xin nodded quickly and thanked him. “Thank you, thank you so much.”

The employee contacted the Bar manager.

The manager naturally didn’t agree to let them see the surveillance either, but who was Mu Xin? She threw a full-blown tantrum-crying, screaming, and making a scene. In this regard, even if Qi Shuping were here, she would have to admit defeat.

Mu Xin cried and raved. Seeing that passing guests were casting glances their way from time to time, the manager eventually relented and nodded.

The employee led the three of them toward the Surveillance Room.

Qin Nan silently gave Mu Xin a thumbs-up in his heart.

Although it wasted a little more time, they had successfully managed to enter the Surveillance Room without using any Points, and they didn’t have to rack their brains trying to find the unlock code for the room’s door.

The employee didn’t know the password to the Surveillance Room himself. After he brought them there, he knocked on the door.

Soon, there was movement inside, and the door was opened.
Qin Nan and the other two followed the bar employee into the Surveillance Room.

There were two people inside at the moment. One was still sitting in front of the monitors, while the other stood up to open the door for them.

He led the three of them to the side and sat down at a computer. “Where have you been? I’ll help you look.”

“I was in the main hall earlier, just sitting in a booth. Later, I walked around the dance floor for a bit. After that, I wanted to go to the restroom, and that’s when I noticed my necklace was missing in the corridor,” Mu Xin said with a sob in her voice.

The one watching the surveillance was a middle-aged man. Seeing Mu Xin like this, he comforted her, “Don’t worry, little girl. If you lost it in the bar, the surveillance will definitely catch it.”

Mu Xin hurriedly thanked him. “Thank you, sir. Thank you so much.”

While she spoke to him, she quickly shot Qin Nan a look.

They had made it into the Surveillance Room, but now they needed to stay here-and ideally, get rid of the original employees. Mu Xin had no idea how to handle that part.

Qin Nan weighed the situation.

There were two people watching the monitors and one bar waiter-three men in total.

It was impossible to get them all to leave. Should he just knock them out like they did in TV shows? But he had never done anything like that before. If he failed to knock them out in one go and they called for help, all three of them would be kicked out. What would be the point of playing then?

Qin Nan felt a bit troubled.

Jian Fan didn’t notice the interaction between Mu Xin and Qin Nan at all. At that moment, he was focused on the surveillance screens.

While Mu Xin was looking at the playback, Jian Fan turned around, standing with his back to her, and watched the real-time feed on the large monitors.

On the screen, several more cheers erupted. The number of Vampires was gradually increasing.

The Security Guard watching the feed noticed Jian Fan’s gaze and joked with a smile, “You people really know how to party. Vampires? That’s pretty interesting.”

“Yeah, they really do,” Jian Fan replied calmly.

Perhaps because Jian Fan’s tone was too cold, the Security Guard Uncle turned to glance at him. Jian Fan was still wearing his mask, so his expression was unreadable. The guard quickly turned back.

“Where is this?” Jian Fan suddenly pointed to a spot and asked.

Qin Nan, who had been trying to figure out what to do, also turned to look when he heard Jian Fan’s question.

The Security Guard followed the direction of Jian Fan’s finger.

There were many windows on the large screen showing various corners of the bar, but one small window in the corner was pitch black.

“That? I don’t know either,” the guard replied.

Jian Fan frowned slightly.

“Is it always black?” Qin Nan asked.

The Security Guard nodded. “Seems like it.”

“Don’t you find that strange?” Qin Nan was somewhat surprised.

“Hey, I’m just an employee. Why be so curious? My job is just to sit here and watch the surveillance. As long as nothing immoral or illegal is happening, why should I care?” the Security Guard replied with an indifferent look.

Qin Nan chuckled. “You’re certainly easygoing, sir. But this bar is pretty weird. If it’s just a black screen, why bother installing surveillance there in the first place?” As he spoke, Qin Nan’s eyes scanned the various feeds.

He had walked through the entire bar, so he naturally knew which place was which. He had been to every area shown on the screen.

“Sir, why is there only surveillance for the first floor? Don’t you have any on the second floor?” Qin Nan asked.

The Security Guard turned his head, looking at Qin Nan with some suspicion. “There is no second floor here.”
