Chapter 7

To say I wasn’t worried at all would be a lie.

Since this happened, I’ve hardly had a full night’s sleep.

Every time I close my eyes, I see those disgusting photos.

The greasy, suggestive poses were clearly the work of an adult.

Moreover, the person in the photos had a petite frame, nothing like Zhou Yanqing’s build.

The person in the photos wasn’t him.

So why did he send those photos to Qi An?

And where did those photos come from?

Zhou Yanqing admitted it readily: “It’s not me.”

“Then where did you get the photos?”

“A friend sent them.”

“And why did you send them to my son?”

“To turn him gay.”

Hearing this, I suppressed my rage and asked, “You know Qi An isn’t like you.”

He kept his eyes downcast. “If someone can be turned, it means they weren’t straight to begin with.”

“Why did you use someone else’s photos?”

“You know my son doesn’t actually like boys.”

He simply repeated the same line: “If someone can be turned, it means they weren’t straight.”

I didn’t want to continue the discussion with him. I placed the strawberries on the cake, completing the final decoration.

I forced myself not to lose my temper in public.

The room was full of children; they would likely empathize with him more than me.

The moment I lost my temper, I would be cast in the role of the ‘adult’-the antagonist.

I carried the cake out. “Let’s go, the cake is ready.”

Qi An was the first to rush over. He took the cake from my hands while whispering to Zhou Yanqing.

“I’ve thought it through. Whoever you like is your business, but I’m still your friend.”

“If you need anything, just call me anytime.”

He hurried away with the cake, throwing himself back into the company of his friends.

This was the only thing that had gone right in days.

Zhou Yanqing remained completely unaffected, sitting to the side and playing on his phone with total composure.

I walked past him and saw that he was in a group chat.

The messages were scrolling too fast for me to see clearly.

I thought of those photos.

In a heat of the moment, I snatched the phone right out of his hand. Caught off guard, he couldn’t stop me.

“Give it back.”

I quickly scrolled through the messages. The content was revolting.

All sorts of images were interspersed with messages from different people.

“Send more.”

“Got any more?”

“Let’s trade photos.”

“Invite more people to the group.”

…

My brain felt like it exploded. Zhou Yanqing grabbed the phone back.

I need to call the police.

That was my first thought.
