Chapter 1
Chapter 1
My son is fifteen years old this year. He’s a straight-A student and has been a model child who never gave me a moment’s worry growing up.
I dropped him off at school this morning, but I had barely stepped into my office when his teacher called.
Her tone was heavy. “Qi An’s mother, do you have time this morning? Could you come in for a moment?”
His grades have always been at the top of his class, and he is a sincere, kind person. This was the first time in all these years that I had been called in for a parent-teacher meeting.
I thought of all the mothers I knew who complained to me about their children entering puberty-how their kids stopped focusing on their studies and started getting into premature romances at such a young age.
I immediately asked the teacher, “Is it a crush? Girls can be sensitive, so please don’t punish her. Just scold my brat; he can take it.”
However, she still refused to give me a straight answer. “You’ll understand once you get here. Just come over first.”
I took some time off work and rushed to the school.
As soon as I pushed open the classroom door, I saw my son standing in front of the teacher’s desk with his head hanging low.
The teacher didn’t say a word, her glasses perched on her nose as she graded one assignment after another, ignoring him completely.
I patted his shoulder, and he took a step closer to me.
“Mom,” he murmured, sounding aggrieved.
I ignored him and addressed the teacher. “What happened, Teacher?”
She slowly took off her glasses, capped her red pen, and pushed a pile of notes toward me.
“Qi An’s mother, take a look at these.”
My son’s breath hitched. I stepped forward.
Small slips of paper were spread out across the desk, each one filled with sentence after sentence written in black ink.
“Hubby, have you eaten?”
“I like you so much, I like you so much.”
“Hubby, can we hold hands?”
…
We’ve all been through young love; I could understand it.
I immediately told the teacher, “As long as it doesn’t negatively affect the girl, I don’t have an issue with my son being in a relationship.”
“I remember he placed first again in the last exam. He can help her with her tutoring.”
“If the girl wants to meet me, that’s fine too…”
“Qi An’s mother!” the teacher raised her voice, cutting me off.
She softened her tone slightly, then looked at my son standing behind me. “Why don’t you tell her who wrote these to you?”
