Chapter 41
Fu Ziyi was smoking downstairs.
I stood on the balcony on the second floor, the wind blowing emptily around me.
I called him.
“Fu Ziyi, if I jump down from here right now, will you catch me?”
Fu Ziyi’s voice came through the phone: “No, it’s too high. You’ll get hurt.”
Actually, it wasn’t that high-not even as high as the wall we used to climb over in high school.
I put the phone in my pocket and climbed over the railing.
Fu Ziyi looked tense. “Jiang Yu, don’t jump.”

Fu Ziyi caught me, and we rolled on the ground a few times.

I rested my head on his shoulder and said, “Let’s run away.”
Run a little faster, so we can catch the first ray of morning sunlight and board the roaring train of time.
Run a little faster, run into a future that’s out of reach.
Fu Ziyi walked at an unhurried pace and asked me, “Where do you want to go?”
The wind was very quiet, and sleepiness crept in.
Before I closed my eyes, I whispered, “Let’s go to spring. Spring is almost here.”

He Wei frowned and said coldly to me, “Do you think anyone would be sad if you died? No one would feel bad about it.”
I said,...
