chapter 3
Actually, they just don’t understand how my mind works.
Since it’s role-playing, and I’m supposed to become family with the Eerie, then of course I should interact as naturally as possible.
I mean, in real life, when you go home, do you have to politely say, “Hello, is anyone there? Please open the door for me.”
After the knock, the door creaked open, and a chill swept over my whole body.
I sighed in comfort-this place is practically a summer resort, no need for air conditioning at all.
I looked down and saw a short red “figure.”
Although my vision was always blurry, those swinging twin braids suggested it was a child in a red dress.
The child gave a sinister smile and suddenly lunged at me, her icy little hands gripping my neck.
I went with the flow and hugged her, feeling her dress was soaking wet. Instantly dissatisfied, I said:
“How can a child wear wet clothes? Take them off! I’ll help you change into something dry!”
My nose twitched, catching a whiff of blood, and I anxiously asked:
“Are you hurt somewhere? Where’s the medicine box? I’ll help you take care of it.”
Danmaku complained, exasperated:
[Sis, open your eyes and look-this is one of the Bosses of Death Home! That’s not a wet red dress, it’s stained red from dismembering players! The bloody smell isn’t from her being hurt, it’s the players’ blood on her dress.]
[Don’t worry, when that one comes home, she’s doomed.]
Unfortunately, I couldn’t see these Danmaku. Hugging the child, I walked into the house, helped her take off the red dress, and found a new white dress in her exquisite princess room for her to wear.
The little hands gripping my neck gradually loosened.
Sensing her confusion, I picked up a warm towel, got closer, and gently wiped the bloodstains from her face.
Only then did I see clearly-it was a cute Little Lolita.
Smiling, I pointed to my own face and said, “As family, it’s my job to help each other out. But shouldn’t you give me a kiss to show your thanks?”
Little Lolita shyly tugged at her white dress, quietly leaned in, gave me a quick peck on the cheek, and darted away.
Her voice was soft and sweet: “Thank you, Mommy.”
What? Mommy?
I became a mom painlessly!
This is just too awesome!
You know, in real life I’ve heard all kinds of stories about dying in childbirth. I long for a family, but the thing I fear most is having kids.
After coaxing Little Lolita to take a nap, I heard a mechanical voice announce in my ear:
[Initial players: 30; Currently alive: 20.]
I didn’t expect that just choosing rooms would kill 10 players.
I turned on my phone, held it up close to my eyes, and barely made out the words on the screen.
Turns out everyone was exchanging info in the player group, like how the others died.
Apparently, Irritable Yellow Hair and three other men fought fiercely over the 3rd floor.
In the end, Irritable Yellow Hair narrowly won and moved into the 3rd floor.
As soon as he knocked and opened the door, an Eerie with a human body and a dog’s head came out, opened its bloody maw, and swallowed Irritable Yellow Hair whole.
It even chewed for a bit, then spat out a few white bones still covered in flesh.
Through the half-open dog-headed door, other players saw a pile of white bones inside. They guessed those were probably the remains of previous players.
After witnessing all this, basically every new player’s adrenaline shot up.
Now, except for Sister Hong and Brother Jun, everyone’s Horror Value has reached 50-and it’s only the first day!
There was also a middle-aged uncle who, the moment he stepped into the 10th floor entrance, had his Horror Value spike to 100 and died instantly.
Other players died in all sorts of bizarre ways, either killed by horror or scared to death.
Of course, none of this had anything to do with me.
I got up while Little Lolita was sleeping, found a mop in the bathroom, and diligently cleaned the whole house.
I scrubbed the red floor tiles until they turned white-I’m really capable!
The red stains on the walls just wouldn’t come off, so I grabbed a scraper and scraped away the red.
By the time I finished, it was already afternoon. My back ached from exhaustion, and I collapsed on the sofa next to Little Lolita and fell into a deep sleep.
When I woke up again, I was enveloped by a cold aura.
The house was very dim, and a blurry black shadow stood before me.
Though I couldn’t see clearly, the first thing he said-his voice had me hooked instantly.

After I entered the horror game, my severe nearsightedness made everything blurry.
