After the call ended, Jiang Tao sat to the side, gave a thumbs up, his eyes wide with amazement.
“Damn, Brother Ming, you’re awesome. This trick of turning black into white, the villain making the first complaint-you played it perfectly.”
I kicked him and sneered.
“Learn something, you loser.”
I didn’t stay long at Jiang Tao’s place before I said goodbye and left.
Once outside, I video-called Jiang Ke directly.
That girl didn’t pick up and hung up on me.
I got back in the car, lit a cigarette leisurely, and took slow drags.
After a while, Jiang Ke called me back.
“Hello, Brother Ming?”
I deliberately stretched my tone, responding with a displeased “Mm.”
She hurriedly asked with a playful laugh,
“It’s Monday today, aren’t you supposed to be with Sister-in-law?”
I took a drag on my cigarette, started the car, and replied in a softer tone,
“Not spending time with my main wife today, I’m with my little wife. Go to that hotel on Minzu Road. If I don’t see you there by eleven, you’re in for it.”
Jiang Ke let out a surprised sound, stammering as she tried to speak, but I didn’t give her the chance and hung up right away.
