Chapter 3

I slipped away.

As soon as I brought back the fresh intel, my four Junior Sisters immediately formulated a new conquest plan.

Fifth Junior Sister: “It’s obvious. What Master wants is someone extraordinary.”

Third Junior Sister: “I get it. Master is looking for a Female Lead. Just like in mortal storybooks, she has to stand out from the crowd the moment she appears.”

Fourth Junior Sister: “The Female Lead must be one of the five of us. It seems the odds are in our favor.”

I hurriedly interjected, “But I’m not interested in him!”

The four Junior Sisters crowded around me. “Really? The way you look at him isn’t exactly ‘innocent.'”

I choked on a melon seed, coughing violently. “Beauty is all well and good, but I don’t have the luck to enjoy it.”

Second Junior Sister smiled and said, “It’s fine. We’re competing fairly.”

The four of them sat down to discuss their strategy: “How do we make Master believe we are the Female Lead?”

My Junior Sisters pooled their money to buy a massive collection of storybooks and spent several months studying them with rapt attention. Their reading list included, but was not limited to, *The Top-Tier Green Tea’s Guide to Capturing the Immortal Lord*, *Reborn as Master’s Arch-Nemesis*, and *I Changed Masters Midway Through Cultivation*. They felt they had gained much wisdom.

This time, Third Junior Sister made the first move.

Third Junior Sister believed she was best suited for the ‘Green Tea’ route. The other four complimented her: “You’re too modest. You *are* a Green Tea.”

One day, Master bought some thin-skinned melon seeds from Taiyuan, Shanxi, and gave them to me.

Third Junior Sister suddenly appeared. “Eldest Senior Sister is so demanding. Not like me-I only know how to feel bad for Master.”

Master’s pupils dilated in shock. I clutched my melon seeds and quickly retreated; the scent of this ‘tea’ was far too pungent.

Third Junior Sister watched my retreating figure. “Master, does Eldest Senior Sister not like me? I’m young, but I really want to be good friends with her.”

Master took a step back. “You’re hundreds of years old. Stop making such strange noises.”

Third Junior Sister refused to give up. “Master, we’ve known each other for centuries. If anything was going to happen, it would have happened already. Senior Sister is so boring.”

I held my melon seeds, watching the show with great interest.

Master followed the script perfectly. “We should keep our distance. Your Eldest Senior Sister wouldn’t like it.”

Having hit a wall, Third Junior Sister stepped aside, and Second Junior Sister was eager to try.

During the Sect’s mealtime, Second Junior Sister suddenly stepped out in front of everyone.

Her sword moved according to her will, dancing on its own. At the same time, her voice rang out.

Amidst the voice and the sword dance, everyone was miraculously drawn in.

“I have been reborn. Reborn on the day before I was to marry Master. I look at the man before me as if from another lifetime. This time, I have decided to cherish him and make up for everything I failed to give him in my past life. The flirtatious Demon Lord sent me a message, but I burned it immediately. Yet, he suddenly appeared…”

Master was so engrossed in the story that he snatched the melon seeds right out of my hand.

I clicked my tongue, and he pushed my hand away. “I’ll buy you more next time.”

Fair enough.

Before we knew it, Second Junior Sister had approached Master. “Master, shall we wed tomorrow?”

Master smiled with satisfaction. “Go and write down what you just performed. I want to read more.”

Everyone nodded in unison.

When it was Fifth Junior Sister’s turn, she steeled her resolve, took out all her savings, and blocked Master’s path.

“Twenty thousand Spirit Stones. I’m buying one night with you.”

Master and I were both stunned.

Master was stunned because Fifth Junior Sister was so young yet so wealthy.

I was stunned because Fifth Junior Sister was losing money! The reward for the conquest was only ten thousand!

I winked at her frantically, and Fifth Junior Sister’s face turned beet red as she seemed to realize her mistake.

Master: “Deal.”

Fifth Junior Sister: “I was just bragging. Is five thousand okay?”

Master pointed a finger. “Scram.”

Fourth Junior Sister had yet to make a move and rarely showed her face. We almost thought she had run out of ideas.

Until several months later, at the Sect’s morning meeting.

Fourth Junior Sister appeared in a white dress, her hair styled in a matronly bun, leading a young child by the hand.

I was horrified. “Fourth Junior Sister, which storybook did she read?”

The other three Junior Sisters replied, “*The Master’s Runaway Wife: He Regrets It Now That She Has His Child*.”

When the other disciples saw the child, they couldn’t help but start gossiping.

“He looks so much like Master. He’s practically a carbon copy!”

I looked closely. He was indeed a miniature version of Master himself.

Fifth Junior Sister leaned in and whispered, “Fourth Senior Sister, where did you find him?”

Fourth Junior Sister gave a faint smile. “I searched the Three Realms for months before I finally found him.”

Impressive. A true powerhouse always makes their entrance last.

Fourth Junior Sister gave the child a look.

The child walked up to Master and said in a high-pitched voice, “Uncle, we look so much alike!”

Master studied the child for a long time.

“We really do. Even if I fathered one myself, he might not look this much like me.”

Fourth Junior Sister said coldly, “Master, you abandoned me back then. Do you want to snatch my child away now?”

I realized then that Fourth Junior Sister’s strength was that she never broke character.

Master picked up the child and raised an eyebrow. “A five-year-old child? You gave birth to him in just five months?”

Fourth Junior Sister froze for a moment before performing beyond expectations: “So, you defiled me five years ago!”

Fourth Junior Sister… is there no one left in this Sect that you care about your reputation with?
