Master asked, “Qingyuan, shall we go and see how your four Junior Sisters are reflecting on their actions?”

Second Junior Sister, who was repairing the plank path, had displayed uncanny craftsmanship. The winding, twisting path, when viewed from a distance, actually formed four massive characters: “I LOVE MY MASTER.”

With a wave of his hand, Master ordered it all to be redone. She was so furious she started shouting curses.

At the back mountain, Third Junior Sister was tilling the fields, attracting a large crowd of male disciples to help her with the labor.

Master remarked, “She’s a real beast.”

Was Master making a pun?

Third Junior Sister called out, “I’ve taken over the front mountain for you too. No need to thank me.”

At Reflection Cliff, Fourth Junior Sister had her arms raised, a wild and wicked smile on her face. “Master, only you can lock me down.”

Hearing this, Master turned to me with a puzzled look. “Qingyuan, what realm is your Fourth Junior Sister at now?”

I replied, “Foundation Establishment.”

Master patted his chest. “Scared me to death. I thought she’d reached Deity Transformation.”

Fifth Junior Sister was staying up all night researching how to market ‘cultivation anxiety’ as a path to riches.

Everywhere Master went, he could only press a hand to his forehead and sigh.

Returning to Cangmu Courtyard, I tried to comfort him. “Master, my Junior Sisters each have their own strengths. Second Junior Sister is skilled in swordsmanship, Third Junior Sister is popular, Fourth Junior Sister is… well, and Fifth Junior Sister is self-disciplined.”

Master seemed to have a sudden realization. “Qingyuan, as the Eldest Senior Sister, you must know them very well.”

I was taken aback. “Master, what do you mean by ‘know them’?”

Master said solemnly, “For example, their backgrounds, their temperaments, their Dao Hearts-is there anything unusual about them?”

As if the four of them hadn’t been unusual enough lately?

I couldn’t help but try to guess Master’s intentions. Could it be that Master had finally seen the light and decided to choose a Dao companion for himself?

Seeing my confused expression, Master immediately added, “For instance, do any of them carry blood feuds, possess extraordinary talent, have a history of meeting the wrong men, suffered great calamities, or have any strange ‘settings’?”

I reached out and covered Master’s mouth. “Master, your four Junior Sisters just happen to admire you. You don’t have to go as far as cursing them.”

Master blinked, looking at my hand pressed against his lips. I quickly withdrew it.

Master said nonchalantly, “It seems that aside from being mentally unstable, they are all quite normal.”

Was Master looking for someone unusual?

I left Cangmu Courtyard, but then I thought of something else I wanted to ask Master, so I turned back.

I heard voices coming from inside the courtyard. Without thinking, I started snacking on melon seeds while eavesdropping.

“System, are you crazy? You want me to awaken, but you won’t tell me who the Female Lead is?”

“For now, we only know that the Female Lead is your disciple.”

Why was there someone else with Master? I used a spell to probe the area, but there were only voices; no one else was there.

“But I have five female disciples, and four of them are mentally deranged.”

“Doesn’t that just prove that the remaining normal one must be the Female Lead?”

It sounded like they were talking about me. What ‘Female Lead’?

Master’s voice rang out again. “Is she normal? What kind of Female Lead pulls out a handful of melon seeds to eat whenever and wherever she wants?”

The other voice paused for a moment. “Relatively speaking, she’s still the normal one.”

“By the way, I think I hear the sound of someone cracking melon seeds.”
