Chapter 5
Chapter 5
I didn’t go straight back to the Marquis of Changping’s Residence.
Instead, I took a trip to West Street.
As expected, Lin Qiao was at the tofu stall.
The girl was named Qian San Niang. Dressed in red, she was bright, vivacious, and had a crisp, clear voice that made her stand out among the crowd of vendors.
Lin Qiao was helping her out, and the two of them would exchange sweet glances from time to time, looking very much like a pair of newlyweds.
I stepped forward.
Qian San Niang greeted me, “What would you like to buy, Madam?”
I looked at Lin Qiao. He looked like he’d seen a ghost. First, he covered his top, then his bottom, and finally his face. “You can’t see me, you can’t see me…”
My gaze settled on Qian San Niang’s face, and I said softly, “I’ve come to take my husband home.”
She froze, realizing who I was, and her expression became very complicated.
Lin Qiao started heading toward the back of the shop. I caught up to him in a few strides. “Husband~~”
He backed up against the wall. “Don’t touch me!”
Not touching him was impossible.
I felt his chest. “Standing up works too, I suppose…”
His face turned bright red, and he snapped in embarrassment, “Zhao Yuehua, it’s broad daylight, and we’re in someone else’s home!”
How could this be someone else’s home?
This storefront, along with the living quarters in the back, were all bought for Qian San Niang by him.
He had used the family’s public funds, so naturally, it belonged to the Marquis of Changping’s Residence.
And what belonged to the Marquis of Changping’s Residence belonged to me.
But I wasn’t in that much of a rush.
I said with a look of feigned difficulty, “Husband, indulging in carnal desires during the day is not the behavior of a gentleman. Bear with it for now; I’ll be sure to satisfy you tonight.”
He was so angry he nearly fainted.
Qian San Niang walked in.
Lin Qiao hurriedly tried to push me away-but I didn’t budge.
My lower body was perfectly stable.
This resulted in it looking like he had just grabbed my chest.
Qian San Niang gasped in shock.
I acted coy. “Oh, stop it. There’s company.”
Lin Qiao screamed, “Ahhh!”
Qian San Niang looked dejected. “The Heir and the Heir’s Wife certainly have a wonderful relationship.”
Lin Qiao stammered, “No, San Niang, let me explain.”
Qian San Niang ran out. Lin Qiao tried to chase after her, but I grabbed his arm. He lunged forward-and didn’t move an inch.
“Let go of me!” he roared.
I let go.
With a loud *thud*, he slammed into the doorframe, and a large lump immediately swelled up on his forehead.
Ignoring the pain, he rushed out in a panic.
Qian San Niang hadn’t gone far; she was still standing by the tofu stall.
However, her eyes were brimming with tears.
Her display of feigned strength made Lin Qiao’s eyes turn red with emotion as well.
“San Niang,” he said, “I don’t like her. You’re the only one in my heart.”
Qian San Niang said, “Ah Qiao, let’s just forget it. I’m not someone who cares about status. As long as I can be by your side, I’m willing to even be a concubine.”
“No, San Niang,” Lin Qiao said, taking her hand. “I will definitely marry you with all the proper ceremonies. You are the only one I recognize as my wife.”
“Ah Qiao~~”
“San Niang~~”

My Husband Guards His Love, I Forcefully Take Him
On our wedding night, my husband apologized to me.
He said that to defend his true love, I had to take my own life.
