Impossible! I must still be hungover!

I kept repeating this frantically in my mind as I climbed weakly into the driver’s seat.

Bang-the door slammed shut.

Yes, as long as I can’t see it, it’s fine.

I took a deep breath, braced myself, and stole a glance at the passenger seat.

Xu Mo was not only still there, but was calmly straightening his cuffs as if nothing had happened.

“Ah-!”

I was scared out of my wits, shrinking against the car door, my finger trembling as I pointed at him. “Are you… are you a human or a ghost?”

Xu Mo gave a self-deprecating smile. “Maybe… I’m a ghost.”

I shook my head in fear. “Why are you haunting me?”

He hurried to explain, “Don’t be afraid, I mean you no harm.”

I pointed a shaking finger outside the car, my voice urgent. “Then leave.”

Xu Mo vanished.

My heart finally settled. I tidied my messy hair and drove home.

After I got home.

As soon as I stepped inside, I felt like something was following right behind me.

I turned around-and it was still Xu Mo!

Why won’t he leave me alone!

I quickly grabbed the ancestral Peach Wood Sword from the door and pointed it at him.

Xu Mo raised his hand and waved it lightly, his voice chilling: “Don’t use the Peach Wood Sword.”

But he refused to leave.

I tried talismans, incantations, every method I knew to drive away evil, but none of them worked on him.

He clung to me relentlessly.

Was it because of last night?

I hurried to explain, “It was my fault for pulling down your pants last night. I thought you were a male model, I didn’t know you were…”

Xu Mo interrupted me: “I wanted to explain, but you were so angry, you didn’t give me a chance and just told me to do it! I could only listen to you.”

My face flushed instantly.

“Don’t be afraid, I mean you no harm.”

Xu Mo kept repeating this over and over.

I calmed down a little. “The police said you’ve been missing for years. They think you’re probably dead, but since they never found a body, they could only file it as a missing person case.”

“What exactly happened to you, and how did you die?”

Xu Mo saw I was calmer and shook his head. “I can’t remember what happened, or how I died. I don’t even feel dead, but no one can see me. I’m like I’m transparent.”

I was shocked inside. “Why can I see you?”

Xu Mo shook his head again. “I don’t know. Maybe it’s fate. After all, you were my first love.”

I cut him off: “We broke up. Four years ago.”

“We broke up? I don’t remember.” Xu Mo’s brows furrowed with a trace of confusion.

I was so angry my voice trembled: “Who breaks up and then says ‘I don’t remember,’ and barges into their ex’s house? What kind of excuse is that! Please leave immediately!”

Xu Mo not only didn’t leave, he became even more persistent.

His gaze fell on my face, and he said, “I want to ask you for a favor.”

“If I really am dead, please help me find my body.”
