chapter 3
“Knock, knock, knock~” The sound of knocking echoed, and the glass on the door reflected the shadow of my best friend.
“Lin Qi, are you okay?” My best friend’s anxious voice came from outside the door.
Where’s Xu Mo?
I reached out to twist the doorknob, but the alcohol suddenly rushed to my head. My body went limp, and I nearly tumbled out the door.
My best friend quickly caught me: “Lin Qi, why have you been in the bathroom for so long? Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” I replied.
With a hint of drunkenness, I glanced around the private room, but I couldn’t see any trace of Xu Mo.
Where did he go so quickly?
Was he shy?
Or was he afraid I’d try to take off his pants, so he left first?
I sat back down on the sofa in the private room. My best friend came over with a wine glass, tipsy, leaning against me and asking, “Are you really not ordering a male model tonight?”
“That heartbreak should’ve been over ages ago. Stop thinking about it and order one! Let yourself go for once.”
I was a bit surprised and looked at her: “I did order one.”
My best friend stared at me in shock and asked, “Where’s the one you ordered?”
Only then did I look around and realize there were only three people here.
“He left.”
I picked up my wine glass, a touch of grievance in my voice: “Didn’t you see Xu Mo leave just now? He was the one I ordered, but he didn’t even say goodbye-he just disappeared.”
“With service this bad, no wonder he got hit.”
“And to think I felt sorry for him before.”
My best friend’s wine glass froze in midair, stopping just before her lips.
She stared at me in disbelief, her voice full of shock:
“Xu Mo? The campus heartthrob from high school, your first love?”
I nodded lightly, holding my wine glass: “Yeah.”
“You must be drunk. There’s no Xu Mo here.” My best friend’s tone was unsettled, frowning as she questioned me.
I was a little confused, tilted my head back and finished my drink, then said to her, “He was clearly here just now. He was the one I ordered.”
You ordered him?
My best friend laughed, saying I must be crazy from missing men. It was one thing to like him in high school, but to still be hung up on him after a breakup?
There’s no Xu Mo here.
You’ve drunk yourself into hallucinations.
She patted my shoulder: “You were just playing by yourself, drinking by yourself, then went to the bathroom alone and stayed there for ages.”
