Chapter 5
Chapter 5
I pounded my bedboard in frustration.
At that moment, someone yanked my bed curtain aside. “What is wrong with you?! Are you trying to break the bed and crush me to death?!”
It was Cheng Yang, the guy who slept in the bunk below me.
Seeing the person I’d just been so intimate with in my dream suddenly appear before my eyes-only to scream at me-was a bit of a shock, to say the least.
The fluttering in my heart died down a little.
I shot back reflexively, “Heh, you can’t handle a little pounding? With your weight, the bedboard is probably screaming for help every day. I’m just giving it a massage.”
…
I regretted it the second the words left my mouth.
Seriously? Why do you have such a big mouth?!
Cheng Yang didn’t fly into a rage and start cursing like I expected. Instead, he fell into an eerie silence.
Just as I was about to needle him a few more times, he spoke up. His face was stiff as he questioned me, “How do you know how much I weigh?”
?
Is he still half-asleep?
His next sentence was even more of a bombshell.
“You didn’t… sneak into my bed in the middle of the night to hug me, did you?” The more he spoke, the more worked up he got, as if he had already found me guilty in his head.
Me: “…”
I had no idea why he was having such ridiculous delusions, but as his arch-rival, I needed to provide a reasonable counterattack.
So, I stuck my foot out and made a show of kicking him. “Piss off.”
I didn’t actually intend to kick him, of course. I wouldn’t have the heart to.
This guy was usually quite agile and an expert at dodging me; he was bound to move out of the way immediately, so I didn’t have to worry about actually hurting him.
Who would have thought that he’d be acting so bizarrely today, both mentally and physically?
It was one thing for his brain to malfunction and spout nonsense, but he just stood there like a statue in the face of my incoming foot.
I couldn’t pull back in time and ended up kicking him right in the chest.
Only then did he react, stumbling back exaggeratedly while clutching his chest. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?! You just wanted an excuse for physical contact!”
? Wait, since when did he get so smart?
Even though I didn’t have that intention this time, I certainly used to.
Feeling a bit guilty, I pulled my bed curtains shut to block out his accusations.
