Lin Shishi moved into my house.

Clutching her plane ticket, she had passed through security under the watchful eye of the butler, but she never actually boarded the plane.

Because my brother didn’t want a long-distance relationship.

He told her that he was willing to ignore everyone else’s judgment for her sake, and if she couldn’t stay for him, it meant she didn’t love him.

Lin Shishi already resented her family for trying to send her away, so how could she possibly abandon the man she loved?

My father and mother did not welcome her.

Dad was still brooding over the disgusting stunt she pulled by defiling his car.

Mom felt that a girl who moved into her boyfriend’s house before marriage had no self-respect.

“And besides, she’s killed someone!”

Mom shot a glare at Lin Shishi, the hatred in her eyes barely contained.

“I believe in Shishi. Those people online are just slandering her…”

My brother was determined to protect his girlfriend. He got into a massive argument with our parents, even going so far as to threaten to cut ties with the family.

Lin Shishi’s eyes welled up with tears. At that moment, she felt that no one in the world could ever love her more than the man standing before her.

“Pei Ji, please don’t fight with your parents anymore. I have money; I can go rent a place outside!”

Lin Shishi couldn’t bear to see my brother struggle any longer.

“Fine!”

My brother took Lin Shishi’s hand and looked at our parents with grim determination. “I’m moving out with Shishi!”

Finally, my parents compromised.

They cleared out the smallest storage room for Lin Shishi and warned her that she was not allowed to sleep in the same room as my brother.

That storage room was probably less than a quarter of the size of her old bedroom.

But for my brother’s sake, she didn’t feel wronged.

“Pei Ji, who lives in that room?”

Lin Shishi was looking at the door with a small teddy bear hanging on it.

That was my room!

It was just locked now.

It was probably for the best. Ever since I died, my parents would always burst into tears whenever they stepped inside.

“That’s my sister’s room.”

My brother didn’t lie.

“You have a sister?”

Curiosity sparked in Lin Shishi’s eyes. “Where is she? Is she away at school?”

“She’s in a place very far away.”

There was a subtle, dark malice hidden in my brother’s smile. “You’ll be able to see her very soon!”
