Chapter 7

He leaned against the doorframe at an angle, raised his eyebrows at me, “Qian… Duoduo?”

I had no intention of being nice to him.

He stole my favorite room! Stole the little love my mom had for me!

He didn’t seem to care. Well, who could read any emotion on a Zombie’s face?

“A Zombie who checks their phone, that’s really funny.” He walked into my room as if no one else existed, glanced at my phone screen, “Ma Taohua, The Ill-Fated Woman? Episode 372?”

Me: “…”

He lowered his eyes to look at me, his tone cool, “You sure are patient.”

Me: “…”

I couldn’t take it anymore. Not only did he enter my room without permission, he also mocked my favorite show. I angrily pointed at the door, telling him to get out.

The boy chuckled softly.

He tilted his head, obediently heading toward the door. As he passed by me, he suddenly said, “You really are a special Little Zombie.”

I was very dissatisfied with the measure word he used.

What do you mean by “a”?

I was the one who saved him from danger, let him stay at my house, eat my snacks, live in my room. Not only was he ungrateful, he acted all high and mighty, as if I was the one freeloading.

So I fell asleep in anger.

After becoming a Zombie, I didn’t eat much, but my sleep was great-even better than before. If my mom didn’t call me, I felt like I could sleep for a whole day and night.

As always, at the same time, my mom barged into my room like a human alarm clock, “Get up! Xiao Bai already made breakfast for me. Look at him, then look at you…”

Whether human or Zombie, I couldn’t escape being compared. I sighed inwardly, resigned to my fate.

Today’s breakfast was simple veggie pancakes and millet porridge.

It was my favorite combo before I became a Zombie.

Things change.

Now, everything tasted bland to me. I could only watch Qi Mubai eat with relish, “Auntie, your cooking is amazing!”

My mom was overjoyed, her smile impossible to hide. She even pushed my plate toward Qi Mubai, “Eat more, Xiao Bai, you’re so skinny. My daughter’s build could probably make two of you…”

?

That’s too much, right? Am I really that fat? Are you talking about yourself?

After breakfast, Qi Mubai volunteered to wash the dishes, calling my mom “Auntie” with every sentence, making her beam with delight.

As soon as he entered the kitchen, my mom sneakily whispered in my ear, “So? Not bad, right? I think this boy is much better than your classmates. Now that it’s the apocalypse and everyone’s turning into Zombies, the three of us should live well together, maybe even carry on the Qian family line…”

Me: “…”

Did you forget? Your daughter is a Zombie too. How am I supposed to have kids? Give you a Little Zombie grandchild?

Even if I could have kids, I wouldn’t do it with this scheming green tea boy!

I protested fiercely in my heart, but my mom didn’t notice. She kept talking as if it was already a done deal, until Qi Mubai came out.

“Auntie, I’ve cleaned everything up,” he said, rolling down his sleeves, “Anything else you need?”

“No, no,” my mom showed a kindness I’d never seen before, “Go relax, there’s nothing to do now. Oh, Duoduo’s room has a computer, the password is 12345678. Her brain’s too simple for anything complicated. If you’re bored, play around, though I’m not sure if there’s internet…”

Computer!

I shuddered, the shock hitting me harder than when I was beaten with a stick that day.

How could I let anyone touch my computer?! Anything stored in there could make me socially dead for a hundred years!

It was my fault for being careless. All my passwords were the same, my mom didn’t even have to ask. If I get the chance, I’ll change them! All of them!

There was no time to stop him. I watched helplessly as Qi Mubai agreed and went back to the room, the sound of the door closing landing like a missile, exploding in my heart.

My mom went back to her room to chase her dramas, leaving me alone in the living room, panicking as if I’d committed murder.

I can’t let him see!

I hurried over and knocked on his door.

“What is it?”

Qi Mubai lounged lazily against the doorframe. Though he asked, his eyes were clear, not the least bit surprised, as if he had everything under control.

I instinctively glanced toward the computer, but Qi Mubai’s tall figure blocked me completely. I was so anxious I clumsily jumped up.

That jump only got me three centimeters off the ground.

Qi Mubai was amused, teasing, “Are you a Zombie or a jiangshi?”

I thought, none of your business, and while he wasn’t paying attention, I shoved him aside. He didn’t mind, just watched as I walked to the computer.

No sign of it being turned on.

He probably hadn’t had time to look yet.

I breathed a sigh of relief. Qi Mubai strolled over from behind, “What are you looking for?”

Feeling guilty, I was about to shake my head when his tone lifted, “Secret Affairs at Boys’ High? Three Gentlemen’s Game? Leke?”

With each title he mentioned, my heart thudded.

How did he know? He hadn’t even looked yet.

I was completely flustered. Thinking it over, the only explanation was that he’d already checked my computer before my mom mentioned it.

So… how did he know the password?

Questions piled up. The boy frowned, “I just wanted to check the news, but your weird stuff is way too obvious…”

Me: “…”

There was no point struggling anymore.

Now, I only had one wish.

I opened the computer and painstakingly typed out a sentence on the screen:

Don’t tell my mom.

The boy was still as nonchalant as ever. He looked at me and smiled-a smile both innocent and wicked.

“Then beg me.”

Damn it!

I regretted picking up this bastard, bringing myself so much trouble. The boy glanced at me, his smile turning dangerous, “Insult me?”

I jerked my head up!

How did he know?!

“Bastard?”

Holy crap!

I was completely shocked.

Can he read minds?

Kiss the Zombie Girl

I am a Zombie.

Early in the morning, my mom burst into my room, yanked open the curtains, and, wearing an apron and brandishing a spatula, shouted at me: “Still sleeping? Stayed up...
