Chapter 4
When we got home, she helped me treat my wound again and forced me to eat vegetables.
I really couldn’t stomach human food. My mom frowned, “Are you going to eat or not? Now that you’ve become a Zombie, your brain’s gone. Eating these will help your brain grow faster, and then you’ll be normal again!”
“Eat! Don’t make me slap you!”
Me: “…”
Because of what happened last time, my mom never let me go out again.
I spent all day leaning against the window, looking down, anxious as could be. My mom knitted sweaters while watching melodramatic soap operas, and insisted I watch with her.
Finally, on the fifteenth day, there was nothing left at home. My eyes lit up and I volunteered to go out and find food.
My mom hesitated for a long while, but in the end, she let me carry the bag, worriedly saying, “Be careful. If anyone tries to hit you, just bite them. When you were human, it was one thing to be bullied, but now that you’re a Zombie, you shouldn’t have to put up with it…”
Me: “…”
This time, I chose a different supermarket.
It was another one, farther from my home.
It took me forty minutes to get there, but fortunately, things went smoothly. The vegetables were basically all gone, and the few left were rotten beyond recognition.
So I just grabbed some canned food and snacks my mom likes, and left the supermarket without a hitch.
I was happily heading home when I saw someone on the way.
It was a young man.
He was walking down the street, bold as you please.
Judging by his back, he must be handsome. My heart skipped a beat-oh no, I can’t bear to see a handsome guy get bitten right in front of me!
In my current state, I couldn’t warn him. Seeing how calm he was, I had a sudden idea: I’d pretend to chase him like I was going to bite him, so he’d run to safety.
No sooner thought than done, I immediately made what I thought was a terrifying sound.
“Yaa yaa yaa!”
Then I charged at him, baring my teeth and claws.
The young man heard me and turned around.
He was tall and slender, with features as delicate as a painting. His eyes were a beautiful amber, and most striking of all was his hair-a gorgeous golden blond.
What color is that? I want to dye mine like that too!
I was stunned by his movie-star looks, then suddenly realized:
Why isn’t he running?
Not only did he not run, he even stopped?
Eyes wide, I ran straight up to him.
He looked me over with those beautiful eyes, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. His voice was clear and magnetic, “Are you… a Zombie?”
I dumbly nodded.
Then I realized the problem.
By nodding, hadn’t I just shown I wasn’t a real Zombie?
And I’d just tried to scare him-what if he hit me?
My mind raced, but the young man just quietly watched me. Then his gaze dropped slightly, long lashes like butterfly wings lowering densely.
He seemed to be thinking about something.
In the distance, I saw several figures. I couldn’t see them clearly, but from the way they moved, I could tell they were all Zombies. Without thinking, I pulled the young man behind me and signaled that there was danger ahead, urging him to run.
He paused, just a little, as if surprised.
What’s he doing, not running?
Afraid he’d really get bitten, I grabbed his hand and ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction.

Kiss the Zombie Girl
I am a Zombie.
Early in the morning, my mom burst into my room, yanked open the curtains, and, wearing an apron and brandishing a spatula, shouted at me: “Still sleeping? Stayed up...
