Chapter 20
“What are you doing here?” Qi Mubai was wearing a thick hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants today, holding a down jacket in his hand. “What, finally afraid of the cold?”
He didn’t answer me, just tossed the jacket to me. “It’s snowing.”
Oh, so it was for me to wear.
My face flushed as I put it on. Qi Mubai helped me adjust it, frowning. “It’s a bit big.”
I actually thought it was just right. “Isn’t a down jacket supposed to be a little big? When it gets colder, I can wear a sweater underneath, and it’ll be perfect.”
Hearing this, his frown eased a little.
This one was pink with color blocks, clearly a women’s style. He couldn’t wear it himself-could it be that he prepared it just for me?
I kept that thought to myself. I didn’t dare say it. I was afraid I was being too presumptuous.
“Also, when we came here, you didn’t bring any luggage. Where did this come from?”
Qi Mubai didn’t answer. He pulled me to the lobby on the first floor, where everyone had already gathered.
Seeing the two of us come down together, many people glanced at us. I felt a bit awkward and unconsciously moved a little away from Qi Mubai.
Maybe he noticed, because Qi Mubai let out another cold snort.
Liang Zai and the others were discussing strategies: “With this much snow, and so much accumulation on the ground, without snow chains, the car won’t move at all…”
Another Superpower User said, “Right, but if we stay here and wait for the snow to melt, we’ll probably starve to death.”
“So what do we do? We can’t leave, but we can’t stay either…”
“How about letting the Fire Element Superpower User go ahead, melting the snow as we walk…”
“Are you stupid? The only Fire Element users we have are the Boss and Liang Ge, and they’re not even pure Fire Element. The journey is so long, if they keep using their Superpower, even the Boss couldn’t handle it. Besides, we might run into Zombies. The low-level ones are fine, but if it’s a high-level one and the Boss and Liang Ge get wiped out, are you going to step up?”
“Why are you cursing me? I was just making a suggestion…”
“Here’s what we’ll do: stay here until the ice and snow melt, then leave,” Cheng Cang, who had been silent for a long time, made the final decision. “All Superpower Users will go out this afternoon to search for supplies for daily needs.”
“Yes!”
…
Should I go?
When I asked Cheng Cang this, he looked at me meaningfully for a moment, then smiled. “Go.”
My heart sank-the last hope gone. I wanted to cry but had no tears. “Alright, but you can’t tell Qi Mubai. I’m afraid he’ll follow me and take risks.”
“Okay.”
We went out that very day.
I lied to Qi Mubai, saying I was going to sleep and told him not to disturb me, then went out with a group of Superpower Users.
We knew nothing about this place, didn’t even know where to find supplies, so we could only explore blindly.
Luckily, I had the down jacket Qi Mubai gave me, otherwise I’d have frozen to death.
It’s strange-even as a Zombie, I can still feel the cold.
In the snowy world, Cheng Cang led the way. I followed him, breathing out clouds of white mist. Liang Zai behind me kept cracking jokes, making me laugh so hard I could barely walk.
Cheng Cang laughed and scolded, “We’re on a mission, be serious!”
I was laughing so hard I couldn’t get a full sentence out. “No! Boss, let him keep going, he’s killing me-hahahahaha…”
“That’s right, Duoduo, you better keep it down,” Liang Zai said. “If you attract Zombies, you’ll have to fight them for us!”
“You jerk! If you want me dead, just say so.”
We joked and laughed all the way. When I was too tired to walk, we finally saw a few apartment buildings ahead.
“Look! There must be something there!”
I was so happy I almost jumped up, running faster than Cheng Cang. He called after me, “Slow down! Qian Duoduo!”

Kiss the Zombie Girl
I am a Zombie.
Early in the morning, my mom burst into my room, yanked open the curtains, and, wearing an apron and brandishing a spatula, shouted at me: “Still sleeping? Stayed up...
