Chapter 14
I stared at him closely, completely stunned.
Wasn’t this the man I ran into when I got beaten up before?
I’m doomed. He knows I’m a Zombie!
I was utterly panicked and instinctively hid behind Qi Mubai.
Qi Mubai clearly noticed my strange behavior and subtly blocked the man’s line of sight, asking, “Do you need something?”
The man looked at Qi Mubai, then at me, and smiled, “Nothing.”
He turned and left, and a large crowd followed him.
Qi Mubai stepped back two paces, keeping his usual distance from me. He lowered his eyes to look at me and said coolly, “Who is he?”
I craned my neck to watch the man’s back, feeling a bit lost. “I don’t know either.”
But judging by everyone’s reaction, he must be Cheng Cang. The founder of the Survivor Base.
He’s really admired.
“Heh.”
Qi Mubai’s inexplicable snort pulled my attention back. I looked at him in confusion.
He sneered, “What? Can’t get enough? Your eyes are glued to him.”
Me: “…”
Seriously, is there something wrong with this guy?
I couldn’t be bothered to respond and just went inside to sleep.
Life here was still pretty leisurely.
Everything was handled by Superpower Users. People like us-if you put it nicely, we’re survivors; if not, we’re just freeloaders being kept by others.
My mom spent her days gossiping with various aunties, successfully infiltrating the inner circle. Qi Mubai was always mysterious, who knows what he was up to every day-I rarely saw him.
As for me, ever since I saw Cheng Cang that day, I’d been living in constant, anxious worry.
He knows I’m a Zombie. Now that he’s met me again in the Survivor Base he built, he should’ve kicked me out on the spot.
But he did nothing, and still hasn’t taken any action.
So the days passed in a state of constant anxiety. The weather slowly turned cold, and I gradually adapted to life here, even made a friend to talk to.
She was the girl living next door to me.
She’s two years younger than me, only sixteen this year, named Xiao Nan.
When I first arrived, she spent her days in Zone B with her brother. Except for hearing her voice at night, I hardly saw her.
Later, her brother went out on a mission, so she stopped going to Zone B and stayed here.
Finally meeting someone around my age, I talked to her as much as I could. At first, she was a bit shy, but once we got familiar, she opened up.
Xiao Nan told me that life in Zone A and Zone B was like heaven, so she went there every day, trying to get whatever benefits she could.
I sighed deeply in my heart.
As expected, no matter the era or the background, I will always be at the bottom.
One day, I hadn’t even woken up when Xiao Nan came to call me, “Duoduo! Get up! It’s snowing!”
Reluctantly, I crawled out of bed. As soon as I stepped outside, Xiao Nan grabbed me, her face full of excitement, “The first snow of the year! Let’s go play!”
A cold wind blew by, making me shiver and instantly wake up.
Not far away, a group of children were having a snowball fight, laughing cheerfully, bright and carefree, as if we’d gone back to the time before Zombies.
“Come on!” I grabbed two handfuls of snow and glanced at Qi Mubai’s tightly closed door. “Wait for me, I’ll go call him!”
Xiao Nan nodded and gave me a teasing smile.
I was a bit helpless.
No matter how many times I explained that there was nothing between me and Qi Mubai, she just wouldn’t believe it, insisting we were a couple.
I couldn’t do anything about it, so I just let her think what she wanted.
“Hey! Qi Mubai! Get up!” My hands were busy, so I bumped his door with my shoulder. I didn’t use much force, but I ended up bumping myself inside.
He hadn’t locked the door.
I stayed in the position I’d entered, bent over, and saw Qi Mubai half-naked.
To be honest, I was a bit shocked.
Not because he was half-naked, but because I could clearly see he actually had muscles.
And they were pretty solid.
I always thought he was skinny.
Turns out, he’s a strong skinny guy.

Kiss the Zombie Girl
I am a Zombie.
Early in the morning, my mom burst into my room, yanked open the curtains, and, wearing an apron and brandishing a spatula, shouted at me: “Still sleeping? Stayed up...
