He Xiuyuan furrowed his brows and reached out to help me up.

I screamed at him, losing all control. “Don’t touch me! You’re disgusting!”

“Don’t be like this, okay?” He Xiuyuan stared at my stomach and sighed. “I never wanted to break up with you, I mean it.”

Just hearing those words made me feel sick.

He was revolting.

If I had never met him, I could have had a clean, honest love. I could have been happy.

He was the one who ruined me.

I grabbed my phone and hurled it at him without a second thought. “The wedding is off. We’re going to get a divorce right now.”

He Xiuyuan froze. A few seconds later, his expression turned visibly cold, and his voice dripped with irony. “You grew up in a single-parent household yourself. Do you really think your mother will let you get a divorce while you’re pregnant?”

I never would have imagined, not even in my wildest dreams, that He Xiuyuan would use my family to hurt me.

It felt as if a jagged blade was carving my heart into a thousand pieces, each one being gnawed, eroded, and pierced through.

I clutched my head and leaned against the wall, sobbing uncontrollably until my throat went hoarse.

I didn’t even notice when he finally left.
