“Careful,” Daisy said, pulling her toward the edge of the corridor.
The swarm of bees flew past them, heading toward the stairwell and quickly disappearing around the corner.
Daisy didn’t look surprised; instead, she seemed quite used to it.
“They aren’t… specially hired hospital staff too, are they?” Tu Nan asked hesitantly.
“The Dean brought them back from the forest,” Daisy nodded. “The bees are specifically for giving patients injections. Their technique is excellent; the patients have never been dissatisfied.”
Bees being responsible for injections-it sounded strangely logical.
“Since they’re in charge of injections, why did the Head Nurse personally give that patient a shot earlier?” Tu Nan asked curiously.
“That patient is a bit special.” Daisy looked left and right to make sure no one was eavesdropping. “The patient specifically requested it, and we can’t refuse a patient’s reasonable request… Oh, we should hurry.”
Tu Nan nodded and followed behind Daisy. As they walked, she took out the paper the Head Nurse had given her and quickly scanned it.
[Fairy Tale Hospital Employee Code of Conduct (Nurse Edition)
1. Do not disobey the reasonable requests of your superiors.
2. As a qualified nurse, your duty is to make every patient feel relaxed and happy at Fairy Tale Hospital, providing them with the warmth of home.
3. Nurses are required to perform daily rounds. Rounds are scheduled for 6:00–7:00 and 21:00–22:00.
4. Lights out in the wards is at 22:00. Please ensure your patients are in their beds before lights out.
5. Nurses must assist the Head Nurse and complete any tasks assigned by her.
6. The Employee Dining Room is open to all staff daily from 5:00–7:00, 11:00–13:00, and 17:00–19:00. Please do not miss your meal times.
7. Employees must wear the hospital uniform and their own ID badge. If you lose your ID badge, please go to the Logistics Department as soon as possible for a replacement. You must obtain a badge before midnight. (Logistics Department hours: 9:00–12:00, 14:00–17:00)
8. If you cannot replace your ID badge in time, please find a way to prove you are an employee of this hospital before ‘it’ finds you; otherwise, the hospital cannot guarantee your safety.
9. The patient is God; nurses cannot refuse a patient’s reasonable request. If a patient files a complaint against you, find a way to get them to withdraw it within twenty-four hours.
10. If you discover a patient behaving aggressively or violently, report it immediately.]
She scanned it a few more times before tucking the note back into her pocket, just as Lucy led her to the Logistics Department.
Daisy knocked on the door and pushed it open.
The employee in the Logistics Department was finally not some strange creature, but a middle-aged man with a face full of freckles. He wore a pair of glasses and looked stern, appearing rather difficult to talk to.
“Dawson, this is the new intern nurse,” Daisy introduced Tu Nan. “The Head Nurse sent her to collect her uniform and ID badge.”
Dawson glanced at Tu Nan, stood up, and went to a cabinet to retrieve two sets of white coats, which he handed to her.
“Making an ID badge takes time,” Dawson said expressionlessly. “Come back to see me in the afternoon to pick it up. Remember, it must be before five o’clock.”
“Thank you,” Tu Nan said. “I’ll remember.”
Daisy said with a smile, “A patient tore my ID badge, Dawson. Remember to make one for me too.”
“I know.” Dawson squinted as he scanned them, then ruthlessly dismissed them. “You can go now.”
Accustomed to his attitude, Daisy stepped out the door.
“Dawson has a bit of a temper,” Daisy explained. “He hates working, and he hates interacting with people.”
Tu Nan expressed her full understanding.
“I have to head back to the information desk now.” Daisy stopped at the top of the stairs, a reluctant expression on her face. “If you need anything, you can come find me there.”
Tu Nan nodded. Daisy knew much more about the hospital than she did, so she decided to find her during lunch to dig for more information.
“Let’s have lunch together,” she offered warmly.
Daisy did not refuse.

Returning to the Head Nurse’s office, Tu Nan knocked and entered after receiving permission.
She had already changed into the hospital’s staff uniform-a simple white lab coat with the Fairy Tale Hospital logo on the chest. It looked ordinary enough.
Upon seeing her, the Head Nurse stood up, walked to a filing cabinet, and pulled out two files to hand over.
“These are the patient records for the two wards you’ll be responsible for. You need to memorize them as soon as possible and get to know your patients.”
Tu Nan took the files and flipped through them.
Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Dwarfs… There were many more pages, but before she could finish, the Head Nurse interrupted her.
“I’ll take you to the wards first.” The Head Nurse’s supple body swayed as she led the way, gesturing for Tu Nan to follow.
“The wards are on the fourth floor. You’re in charge of Rooms 403 and 404.”
The Head Nurse’s tentacles glided a great distance with every step, forcing Tu Nan to jog to keep up.
They soon arrived at the area where Tu Nan’s assigned wards were located.
Tu Nan opened the files and took a quick glance. Each ward housed three patients, meaning she was responsible for six patients in total.
“Head Nurse, what are the requirements for an intern nurse to become a full-time employee?” Tu Nan asked in a low voice.
The Head Nurse didn’t turn her head, but her field of vision was vast. Tu Nan could feel her gaze landing on her.
“Once all your patients are satisfied with you, you can become a permanent staff member.”
The requirement didn’t sound difficult, but in practice, it certainly wouldn’t be easy.
Tu Nan frowned. What would happen if a patient was dissatisfied with her?
“What counts as being satisfied?” she asked again.
“Every patient has their own exclusive stamp. If they are satisfied with you, they will give you a stamp.”
It sounded like some sort of loyalty card activity.
The two stopped in front of Room 403. The Head Nurse’s tentacle coiled around the handle and pushed the door open.
The conditions in Fairy Tale Hospital’s wards were excellent-spacious and bright. Although it was a triple room, it didn’t feel crowded.
Tu Nan quickly checked the files. Room 403 housed Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Rapunzel.
A little girl wearing a red hood was sitting at a table playing with building blocks.
“Oh?” Little Red Riding Hood turned her head at the sound. Her eyes lit up when she saw Tu Nan, and she spoke in a crisp voice, “It’s a nurse sister I haven’t seen before.”
The Head Nurse’s tentacle gently patted Little Red Riding Hood’s head. “Has Little Red Riding Hood been good today?”
“Little Red Riding Hood is always the best.” The girl lifted her head proudly and pointed to the spot across from her. “Sister has been playing with me, so I’ve been very good.”
Tu Nan looked where she was pointing. There was no one there-only a blank white wall.
The Head Nurse seemed entirely unsurprised. She pointed at Tu Nan and said, “This is the new nurse who will be taking care of you. If you need anything, just find her.”
Little Red Riding Hood nodded and said happily, “This nurse sister looks very pretty. I’m sure she won’t suddenly disappear like the previous sisters did.”
